Dr. Karaton is very helpful and knowledgeable and very kind with my dogs. He clearly explained my dog's condition and even showed me the x-rays. He cares about both people and their pets. Also, Alexa the vet. technician lifted my 60lb. dog into my car for me after he'd had sedation earlier in the day. Thank you to the caring staff at Westbrook.

The staff and Dr Kola are amazing. Friendly and straight forward. This past year my larger dog had to have his toe amputated and Dr Kola and staff did such a great job. My dog has had zero issues, no pain, no discomfort, he’s back to normal. My elderly 17.5 yr old dog has had a few issues as of late. We’re just now on the path to keeping her comfortable in this last stage of life. Dr Kola understands and respects my wishes in regard to how far and to what degree I’m willing to go. He’s matter of fact and doesn’t push things or procedures. He’s always such a joy to talk to as well 😊

I was with this veterinary clinic for 8 yrs. When I saw dr. Kola, it was a wonderful experience. Mostly with my fluffy boy Odie, that was until this past june. It's taken me 2 months to be able to write this because of their poor service. Odie was taken in late june for sneezing. They quoted me $5,000 for dental to fix "his horrible teeth that is causing the sneezing". All the vet (not a dr ive ever seen there before) did was lift his lip (not even fully) to look at the teeth. Nothing else was looked at.
The quote alone sent me into a spin. Id never seen such a high quote, neither had every other vet clinic in the city. After weeks of pricing out, we ended up go to the spay and neuter clinic on manning. They took one look and said 1. His teeth aren't that bad (and then proceeded to pull off plague with his finger). The real issues was two growths inside his nose. We booked him for a biopsy which came back inless than 4 days.
He had Squamous Cell Carcinoma, layman's term: aggressive skin cancer in his nose. Treatment would mean cutting his nose off and it would not stop future spots from developing. He had just turned 10 that may. I knew the choice i had to make. He had been my service dog in his prime, i owed it to him to let him leave in as little pain as possible.
On September 15 2025, 1 month after diagnosis, Odie was put to rest on the family farm surrounded by everyone who loved him. A huge shout out to my parents vet who came out to help send him off and to boreal vets here in edmonton for helping him with pain management while I set up his farewell.
I would not recommend this clinic. They arent concerned about you or your pets, just the bottom dollar. I hope this review gets read by staff and they can learn from this experience.
These photos were taken the day he was put to rest. (You can see the biopsy spots in the one photo).
I will never forget this. Would I had gotten more time with them if they had done their job? Maybe, maybe not. Ill never know now.

I took our dog here because it was close to home and he has a small issue after being in boarding for a week. We normally go to another vet clinic for our regular check ups. Doctor Kolla was so kind and took the time with our reactive dog to make him (and me) feel so comfortable. We had such a great experience we will be moving to this clinic moving forward for all of our needs! Would highly recommend.

What a lovely clinic! I won't lie, the prices here are a bit higher than other vets. I do wish they were a little less. Appx 120 for a basic exam vs other Vet offices at 60-100. BUT. The service is also higher here. I switched from Gateway Vet because while the vets were good, the reception and the knowledge of the rest of the staff was horrible, especially with handling my pet insurance needs in a timely manner.
Westbrook vets and staff on the other hand have good knowledge, are very kind, and they are super timely with getting me things like my invoices and chart notes so I can send them off to insurance! Everyone here from the vets to the reception is fantastic. They even sent the sweetest welcome to the clinic letter with everyone on staff signing it. They also try to soften the cats up with treats when you arrive so they stay calm, I thought that was very sweet. Customer service like that is rare now. If you use pet insurance or you just prefer a high quality of care, this is a great place to go, regardless of which staff you see here. :)
