The Old Hat Shoppe is a safe, affirming space to express your truest self! I was warmly welcomed by my stylist Chiara. Chiara was very attentive and instilled confidence in the big change I wanted to make. I am so happy with my new hair cut and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend this hair salon and booking in with the very talented Chiara!

I cannot recommend Hilary Somerville enough. As a queer non-binary person, I don’t always feel fully comfortable in hair spaces there can be a lot of assumptions, gendered expectations, or just that subtle feeling of not quite being seen. But with Hilary, I felt completely safe, respected, and understood from the moment I sat in her chair. She really listened. Not just to the words I was saying, but to the feeling behind what I wanted. She took my ideas and somehow translated them into something even better than I had imagined. The look she created for me didn’t just suit me it felt like me. It exceeded every expectation I had walking in. Hilary has such an intuitive eye, incredible skill, and a warm, affirming presence that makes the whole experience feel collaborative and empowering.
