Alrighty! It took me a couple months to find a hair salon that could provide a professional spiral perm treatment in Vancouver. I found probably a couple but Hoas salon stood out to me the most and had to give it a try! I was a little worried about my hair not taking in the perm due to natural resistance and Hoa made sure to help me understand that it may or may not come out to my desire of course due to natural hair resistance. (Personally, I feel like your hair should be at least 70% healthy from any toxins in order to absorb any change). My hair took about 4 hours to perm which in my opinion- was really fast! I learned a lot about perms with Hoa during the time and made sure I followed through for the after-care. Overall, Hoa did amazing job reaching my inspo picture and I couldn't be more happier! Literally feel like a different person!! I didnt wash my hair for 4-5 days after the perm so it could really absorb in and honestly it looked better and better each day without a wash- almost felt like it couldve gone on longer! I bought some products suggested by Hoa and despite the smell of the shampoo and conditioner- it really helps! And the after picture is after two washes! And its definitely up to the individual to maintain their curly hair and style for better results. Price wise, it was a little pricier than I expected however for the results I got and the service it was definitely worth it and reliable for sure! Overall I am so satisfied with my hair and couldnt be happier! Thank you Hoa!

I recently moved to Vancouver and needed to find a stylist who could work with my curly/wavy hair. I'm so glad I met Hoa! She brought life back to my curls, and also gave me amazing highlights.She really listens and is an all-around terrific person. I couldn't recommend her enough!

Hoa is nice enough, 5 hours in her chair for what was supposed to be a 6-month tight bouncy perm. Over $800 for the service, almost $200 worth of product. Got home and as soon as it was dry it was flat. Contacted her repeatedly over the next 24 hours. Offered a partial refund for her time and to fully return all of the unopened products. When she did not reply I let her know I will be contacting my interac and requesting a full refund for faulty service (fyi: INTERAC DOES NOT HAVE YOUR BACK. I must now report this to authorities.) She accused me of threatening her and cc'd her husband and told me to contact him instead. I continued for the next 24 hours sending photo evidence and another video, clarifying that I was not threatening but in response to multiple attempts to offer a partial payment for respect of her time. No response, so here we are. I have now washed my hair and all I have is 4 inches chopped off of my length and frizz. Her photos may look good, but they are all on wet hair. I do not trust anyone who will not stand behind their work. In no way is this a thousand dollars worth of service. (EDIT IN RESPONSE: hoa, I literally went home. I did nothing to my hair. For a tight and curly spiral that was completely flat that evening, you sent me an email that said it may fall within 6 to 10 weeks. Justify yourself however you like, but I would never let you touch my head again)

Went to get my hair permed here and not only did I leave with amazing curls but I also left with hair that was healthy and bouncy. Even with all the chemicals from the perm!

I recently had a perm done by Hoa and I couldn't be happier with the results. I've been getting perms since I was 18, approximately one every ten years, just to switch up my look. Unfortunately, my last experience in Montreal a year ago was a complete disaster. The perm didn't take at all, and within a month, my hair was completely straight again. When I arrived in Vancouver, I started searching for hair salons that specialize in creating curls, and that's when I found the Staight and Curl Salon. After reading the reviews and seeing the final results in the photos, I decided to give it another try, despite my apprehension from my previous experience in Montréal. Hoa warmly welcomed me and listened attentively to my expectations. She provided a personalized and professional service. I particularly appreciated the fact that she dedicated her full attention to my perm and didn't take on other clients simultaneously. In terms of pricing, it is very reasonable compared to the current rates in downtown Vancouver. On that note, thank you Hoa for offering me an affordable price, it is greatly appreciated :-) I am extremely satisfied with the results and want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Hoa! I highly recommend her services to everyone. You can trust her expertise and skill without hesitation.
