My wife has been waiting for 3 credits since Nov. 24th 2025. Spoke to 5 different agents. Got a ticket made up from one agent because a manager told the agent to. Another agent sent my claim directly to finance and nothing as of Jan 27th 2026. The worst company to deal with you can never get to speak to management or finance. Maybe I should get a lawyer involved with this. I mean it’s about $200 that they owe but that is not the point. Give me my credit back!!! Update 2 weeks later!!! Absolutely NOTHING has happened and no money was credited. Have been speaking to an agent Erin on a recorded line who has tried getting me my credit and nothing. Maybe the finance department and CEO’s should hear these phone conversations and do something about their finance department they are useless. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. WHEN YOU NEED THEM THEY ARE NOT THERE!!!!! Go with someone else! Next going to the BBB. Update 2 weeks later Absolutely NOTHING. No credit yet and all I got was a message from Erin that IT is looking into it now because finance figured out that they can’t give a the credit back. Really??? Nooooooo kidding it’s been 3 months. GIVE ME MY CREDIT BACK STOP MAKING EXCUSES!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY GO ELSEWHERE.

Ongoing billing issues with this company. No payment taken for 3 consecutive months last year. Took numerous phone calls before matter was resolved. Since last August wrong amounts have been taken from my account, being overcharged. No payment taken out for November or December. Made phone calls before matter weekly since November 20. Each time was told problem would be resolved within 24 to 48 hours. Payments were finally withdrawn on second week of January. after 10 phone calls and letter to company. Wrong amounts were taken again as well as being billed twice for same month. Contacted company again and was told my account needed to be audited and would be notified by a supervisor within 3 days. Two weeks have now passed with no response. Seriously thinking of cancelling all services with this company again as customer service seems to be nonexistent.

-I would not recommend SLWC and I am just going to give you the facts as to why. We have now completed replacement of our wastewater line, which was necessary. SLWC refused to pay a cent for it. SLWC initially took the position that there was no reason to replace the line since the sewage was not presently backing up. By way of background, we had a massive sewage backup in our basement . We contacted our home insurer first and then a company we already had a Protection Plan with for plumbing and drainage – Enercare. Enercare came and cleared the immediate blockage and also used a scope camera to see what was causing it – and made a recording of it. They advised us that there were blockages of our wastewater line as tree roots were growing in at various connections. .At one point in the wastewater line there was an estimated 80% blockage from tree roots. When I contacted SLWC with this information to make a claim they sent a “technician” who advised that he was not allowed not look at the wastewater line and was only there to see if there was an ACTIVE backup, which there was not. SLWC quickly closed the file on our claim without examining the line or speaking with me. SLW of Canada is an American company. They also use the name HomeServe. I primarily dealt with a person who was calling from Tennessee. I advised SLWC that my wastewater line WAS damaged and in need of replacement and that I had the recording and report from Enercare. With effort I was able to get them to send back a more senior technician to look at it with their own camera. I personally watched the monitor as this new technician put his camera through the line and I asked him questions about it. He confirmed that there were definitely roots in there where there were breaks in the line, and that it was definitely leaking water. When he was finished he advised that he was going to "highly recommend" that the line be replaced. AN HOUR OR SO LATER SLWC called back from Tennessee to advise us that the technician’s company had advised them that THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH OUR WASTEWATER LINE and that they would not be doing anything more. I asked for the actual technician’s report from the second visit but never got it. I don’t know what that company actually told SLWC, only what SLWC TOLD ME they said. I did get a copy of their camera recording, which I believe shows the same problems as the Enercare recording. I was told that various persons with SLWC had reviewed the camera footage and concluded that there was no need to repair or replace the line. They told us the wastewater line was in "very good condition". They did, however, offer to send someone to use a device to cut the roots (after having previously try to tell us there were NO problems with our line). They also indicated we would then get advice as to chemicals we could periodically use to prevent the roots from growing back. They told us this was a "maintenance issue" on our part. The agreement indicates in its "Terms and Conditions" that it covers damage "due to normal wear and tear", including "a blocked or leaking line". Three other companies explained that CLAY wastewater pipes that were used a few decades ago – as was the case for our house – develop problems after 50 to 60 years (builders and cities no longer use them). The clay pipes eventually shift and break at the joints - roots to grow in, water leaks out etc. They need to be replaced. Ironically, if you look under the Product description on SLWC’s OWN website you will see this problem described and highlighted for potential sewer line customers to see. I WOULD NOT RECOMMENT THIS COMPANY. It seems pretty clear from other reviews that if you want them to come and clear a blockage they will readily do that, but look carefully at what their web site says you will get with their “product” IN RELATION TO REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF WASTEWATER LINES then consider our experience in terms of what they did NOT cover for us (and we did replace it). We regret having paid for their “exterior line coverage” for years.

Service line warranty took care of my concern in a very timely manner. They were very professional throughout the whole process. From the time of my call to solving the problem was under three hours. Amazing. It was the best decision I could have made to sign up for their program. Would definitely recommend.
