This happened a few years ago and I forgot to review them. I’m catching up on my reviews. So, my water heater failed. It started leaking so I needed a new one. As a cost conscious person, I phoned around for a cost of a water heater installed. Rant came in as not the cheapest but close and I heard their name in passing. I deliberately asked is this your complete installed price? He said yes. I said, OK, let’s do it. I actually think they got it out of Regina because I wanted a large gallon water heater. The day came. They ripped out the old water heater which was soldered neatly in place, told me my large exhaust fan pipe needed to be replaced because they/code requires a smaller one. I asked if he was a Journeyman and he said yes. So I thought all was good. I later noticed as they went outside to install the smaller exhaust pipe, that they went LAZY and pexxed the cold and hot water connections in. It looked nice before and now it looks like a 3 year old did it. It was horribly bad. I also noticed the gas line did not need to be extended or shortened, the angle just needed to change. By the time I went outside they were hanging a 2 inch exhaust(I think) into a 4 inch hole and were sealing the difference in space with silicone. I asked what the hell are you doing? You have a 2 - 2 1/4 gap all the way around and your siliconing it? That is not going to hold heat.I asked if he was a Journeyman and again he said yes. I told him. Journeyman plumber would take 3/4 inch of plywood and cut 2, 4 inch holes in them. You would glue/nail/screw the two pieces of wood together. You would then drill a 2 inch hole in the center of those two pieces of 3/4 inch plywood and use that with a little silicone to seal the large hole left by the old exhaust tube. I told him to get the hell out of my yard. I’m not a carpenter nor a plumber and I know better. I called Rant and told them what happened, they said nothing. I asked for my bill and he told me it wasn’t ready yet. I called back the next day, then this happened. Well, you needed a new exhaust pipe, that’s extra, you needed pex hose and fitting, that’s extra, the gas permit was extra. I stopped him there. I asked how in the hell is a gas permit NOT included in an installed price? I asked what is definition of installed price was. Why are you not honoring your quote? Well, there were all these extras. I said fine, I’m not going to argue with idiots. I will take this as a learning experience and Never deal with a incompetent business. Installed price means nothing, I had to properly fix the 4 inch to 2 inch exhaust outlet. Nothing was offered for my repair or time. Do not use these people. They do not care nor do they honour their quotes. Don’t get me started on the quality of their work. If I could give a zero, it would be a zero.

I can’t rate the service because they never ended up coming to my house. I called and set up a request for a technician to help us with our filtration for our dugout and was told they would come the following week and I’d get a call to set that up. The following week came and no call so I called and I was told no one could come this week and they’d see when someone could. I explained to the receptionist (kindly may I add) that I was told someone would be coming to help this week and and I didn’t understand how if they just don’t have time to make appointments, please don’t tell people you can as we need to figure this out and she rudely told me to try another plumber! Such a shame when a business can’t figure out a kind receptionist, and keeping appointments that have been made!

Had Rant service a furnace at a home I was renting a couple of years ago. They showed up promptly but without proper tools to clean the coil, so I borrowed the repairman a vaucume and a brush and a few other things and he was gone in 20 minutes. Communication was horrible, the bill wasn't cleared by the landlord, so Rant sent it to collections with my name on file. Damaging my credit and now the workers at Rant are still harassing me after I told collections I would not be paying the $100 as it isn't my home and I don't live there. Will never deal with them again.
