Why I go to Jungle Betty now: I was a long-term shellac nail manicure girly - quick & easy right? But then I noticed the health of my nails started to deteriorate and I became concerned for what these fast manicures were actually doing. I needed some help and Sheena at Jungle Betty is my actual *nail angel!* She did a full assessment on my nails started beds, recommended the best action moving forward, and it’s safe to say I haven’t looked back. I appreciate the genuine QUALITY and CARE that I receive at Jungle Betty. To whoever might be reading this: YOU are worth the time and money, invest in quality and you won’t regret it. I wasn't sure what a waterless pedicure was before my appointment but I will say that it was the best pedicure I have ever had. Sabina did an amazing job. Overall, the whole experience and ambience of the salon wad top notch. I definitely felt extremely pampered and extremely satisfied with the experience.

The high ratings for Jungle Betty surprise me, and want to temper expectations. They have recently offered me a ‘come back and retry our services’ discount, acknowledging their shortcomings and I will update this review afterwards. In the last 2 years, I tried the services here a handful of times and generally had a disappointing experience. Reception is polite but either lack education on service guidance or communication with nail techs. What is discussed when contacting the salon vs what ends up being negotiated with the tech always diverged. The atmosphere wasn’t friendly, the same service is executed differently from visit to visit and/or technician to technician. I saw the same tech back-to-back when I was trying to support my nails growing out and each service only further damaged them, after being talked out of the service I had requested. During the pandemic, I learned how to do my own extensions and overlays but now lack the free time. On one occasion I paid nearly $100 for what ended up being a basic BIAB coat on my short natural nails (no extension) and no gel colour on top. That’s an unjustified premium cost. The pricing in no way reflects the level of service. I questioned how happy the staff are, as most didn’t seem to want to interact with clients. That being said, many are working moms doing their best and I didn’t need them to fawn on me. I just wanted nice nails.

I was in Calgary for a few days last May and stopped into Jungle Betty for a mani/pedi. The shop was impressive and clean. I loved the decor. The esthetician was very good and didn't mind that most of the time I just wanted to relax and be quiet. She made sure I was comfortable. My mani and pedi both lasted quite a while and looked amazing. I have already reccomended friends go here!

I have been going to Jungle Betty for a few months now. I always go to Angelina. She is AMAZING. She is very thorough, my nails always look so good afterward. She takes her time to shape, and constantly checks in to make sure I like the length, shape, cuticles, and colour! I highly recommend her. This is my absolute favourite place to get my nails done, I don’t trust anyone else with my nails now.
