7 Months. No Work Done. --- **UPDATE Feb2026** Work has begun and is well underway. I am relieved and cautiously optimistic. --- In late July 2025, I first contacted GCR&S and they were very prompt to come and look at the property and give me a quote. A few weeks later in mid August, I talked to them and we set up a tentative date for October, which sounded like it would be no problem. Mid October I hadn't heard from them. I called twice in the third week. I was told it would likely be a couple of weeks and that they would have a better idea in a few days of the exact timing. Mid November, I was told probably a couple of weeks and he would have to check with his crews. He promised to call me back that day and failed to do so over the course of the next seven days. I called them back in the third week of November and was told that would definitely be 4 to 6 weeks! I said I was fine if my project wasn't important enough for them I just really wanted it done and they could be honest. I was told that this timeline was very doable. I reached out in mid January and was told one week--he would just need to reach out to his crew. Imagine my surprise and joy that it would finally come together. A week later, I called and he told me he forgot to contact his guys. In the end he said it would be two more weeks. As of today, first week of February 2026, I have been told (once again) that they will definitely be able to start next week. I'm hopeful, but of course I can't possibly trust what I am being told. My interactions in person and on the phone have been pleasant. Out of the dozen or so times that we have spoken, I hade to reach out all but once! I appreciate them wanting to provide me with good news, but it is worse than nothing when it is completely disconnected from any work being done or even a single time estimate to be remotely correct. Like a fool, I still hope for the successful start (and fates willing, completion) to this project. I am not putting this review up to deride a company that is struggling in some way. Whether it be problems with weather, staffing, scheduling, organization, or any of the other parts of running a successful business. Just be straight with the people who want to hire you. Communicate. Please. I can deal with the reality of a situation, but lack of information and half-truths have no place in any honest endeavour. I'll try and update this if and when any work is done on my home.

We highly recommend Great Canadian Siding in Saskatoon. Their pricing is very competitive, the best quote we received out of 4-5 companies. We were skeptical because sometimes you get what you pay for. We are blown away with the quality of product, the workmanship and the overall level of professionalism. Our crew was very busy and they completed the job within a week but we didn't mind waiting because their attention to detail was excellent. When you order your siding ask for Alex and his team to install it, they are great!!!

The guy on the phone, after we'd been sending too many slow emails, have me good, quick advice. I wanted a metal roof that would look nice for my neighbors and also last a long time. I got the slightly more expensive kind with no exposed rivets that could rust over time. For the screws that hold it onto my house, they are painted and also have built in waterproof grommets to help the whole roof last for probably decades. The installer guy was very diligent, answered my questions with knowledge and politeness, and even chatted on his break with me. Great company!

We highly recommend Great Canadian Roofing & Siding. They did the soffit, facia & siding on our house & it looks AMAZING. They took our vision, recommended a few enhancements & we couldn’t be happier. Matt was great to deal with, he is very professional, knowledgeable & honest.

We had 1/4 of our shingles fly off in a crazy wind-gust. We had no idea that the existing shingles hadn’t been installed properly. Great Canadian came and quickly and efficiently removed and replaced all of the shingles. They also installed additional vents as we did not have sufficient venting! The gentleman in charge of this job, Ray, was very professional start to clean-up! And we really appreciated how hard he and his assistants worked in 30+ heat to get the job done. Highly recommend this company!
