I've been going to this place for over 20 years, and only because the best dentist in the world works there, Dr. DENG. She has just retired and I'm happy for her but sad that I have to get another dentist. There will never be another I fear. Nice and clean waiting rooms , friendly staff and professional work from everyone, I highly recommend.

Dr. Tan is absolutely incredible. Explains everything and respect your decision. If you see bad reviews here, it is from people who don't know how dentistry and insurance work in Manitoba. Two male receptionists that are incredibly helpful and polite. Recommend 100% this office and Dr. Tan as your dentist!

I had a very disappointing experience at Grant Dental Centre. While my family has been seeing Dr. Deng for years and she’s an excellent dentist, this was my first time visiting the clinic, and I was mistakenly booked with Dr. Tan. The experience was frustrating from start to finish. I clearly stated that I wanted a cleaning with Dr. Deng. The front desk offered appointments with Dr. Tan and another doctor, but did not clarify that Dr. Tan was a completely different dentist. I assumed “Tan” was Dr. Deng’s maiden name, which was later used to dismiss my concern as a result of “bad English.” This lack of communication caused unnecessary confusion. My appointment was at 9:45 AM, but the cleaning didn’t begin until around 10:15. After the cleaning, I was taken to another room to wait for the dentist. I still believed I would be seeing Dr. Deng. About five minutes later, an assistant came in and told me that Dr. Tan wanted me to have another x-ray. I was then taken for a panoramic x-ray, which was not explained or consented to. After returning to the waiting room, I was taken again for another regular x-ray of my front teeth to confirm a supposed issue—which Dr. Tan later said was not a concern. We spoke for about 15 minutes. Then came the bill—nearly $600 CAD: Hygiene + x-rays: ~$350 Full exam: ~$130 Panoramic x-ray: ~$90 Additional x-ray: ~$30 I was shocked by the charges, especially since I only expected a routine cleaning. The full exam typically requires a one-hour consultation, but I only saw the dentist for 15 minutes. The panoramic x-ray was not explained or consented to, and the additional x-ray confirmed there was no issue—making the panoramic x-ray unnecessary. When I questioned the charges, the person presenting the bill—who I later learned is Dr. Tan’s boyfriend—was extremely rude. He said: “You’re not technical, you’re not a doctor, your English is bad, so you misunderstood.” This was unprofessional and disrespectful. I felt dismissed and unheard. Dr. Tan later insisted that every first-time patient must receive a full exam, regardless of the reason for the visit. This policy was never communicated to me in advance, and I would not have agreed to it had I known. The clinic also claimed their fees were confirmed by the Manitoba Dental Association (MDA) and aligned with the 2025 Fee Guide. But my concern is not about the fee amounts—it’s about being charged for procedures I didn’t consent to or need. It felt like Dr. Tan was focused more on maximizing billing than on patient care. If you choose this clinic, I strongly recommend to be cautious—especially regarding communication, consent, and unexpected charges.

From the first time I made an appointment at this dental office, I felt that this was a fabulous place just based on the kind, and professional service I received. I have been back 4 times now and every single time I'm welcomed with a warm and friendly greeting by ALL!!! And then there's Doctor Tan, with her infectious laughter and humor. I even expressed that I've never had a good time at a dentist office before. She's also a fabulous dentist who addresses my concerns and explaines what she's doing and why. I would recommend Dr.Tan and her team to anyone. GO TEAM!

Friendly, courteous and professional staff. I was greeted by all front office staff and I felt relaxed and welcomed immediately. The dentist and the dental assistant guided me through a treatment program and the options for treatment. They were both very informative, friendly with no pressure. Recommendations were offered and advice was given by the doctor. It is my humble opinion that if you are in need of dental Care, that you make this dental office your first stop. You'll be happy and grateful that you did. Stay Healthy .
