Leadership starts at the top and it is clear to me that Derek the General Manager has shown his crew how to treat people. He has set the example. He exemplifies how to be caring, responsive and to ensure everyone has a great experience. Thank you Derek. But today’s review is about Jessica. It is my birthday today and Jessica, without skipping a beat, wished me Happy Birthday as I checked in this morning. Jessica is an absolute wonderful person who truly cares about the GoodLife Experience. Thank you so much for the birthday wish. And thank you to Mount Royal GoodLife and all the staff for setting the standard for professionalism and greatness.

The gym facilities themselves are close to average, but my experience with membership changes has been extremely disappointing. I was originally enrolled with my partner under a corporate household membership. After a few months, my partner needed to cancel, so I went to the front desk to request that I be enrolled under my own corporate information as a single member and that my partner be removed as the payer. The staff member told me he had taken care of everything with “a few clicks” and that I just needed to log in online to activate my individual corporate discount, which I did. However, months later, I realized I was still being charged the regular membership rate. When I raised this issue, I was told they couldn’t do anything and that I would need to contact corporate membership. Calling them was completely useless. They said they couldn’t retroactively fix the charges and didn’t see any corporate membership linked to my account. I was then told there was actually a longer process required ,unlinking the account and re-linking it as a single member. None of this was explained to me by the front desk. It was made to sound simple at the time, and I trusted that it had been handled properly. This whole experience makes the team handling memberships seem careless and poorly coordinated. It has honestly made me lose trust with the organization. It feels like customers are just numbers, and once they’ve been charged, there’s little interest in resolving issues fairly. Very disappointing experience.Choosing 1 star as i dont have an option to choose zero

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at GoodLife Fitness Mount Royal. This is, without a doubt, the worst gym in the downtown area. The equipment is outdated and often broken, with malfunctioning treadmills and uncomfortable massage chairs. Towels are not clean, and overall cleanliness is lacking. Moreover, my wife recently signed up and paid a Join Fee, only for GoodLife to remove the Join Fee promotion a few days later. When we asked if they could match the new offer or provide any adjustment, we were told they couldn’t do anything. It feels unfair that new members pay nothing while we were charged extra. This lack of flexibility and poor customer service is disappointing, especially from a brand that promotes member satisfaction. Overall, this experience has left us unhappy and questioning whether we should cancel our membership.

I’m disappointed with my recent experience at this location. My wife signed up just last week and paid a Join Fee. A few days later, GoodLife removed the Join Fee promotion entirely. When we asked if they could match the new offer or provide any adjustment, we were told they could not do anything. It doesn’t feel fair that someone who signed up only a few days earlier gets charged extra while new members pay nothing. We expected better customer service and flexibility, especially for a brand that promotes member satisfaction. This experience definitely left us unhappy and questioning our decision to cancel our membership soon

Firstly, I have been a member for a long time and in 20 minutes Amanda showed me a better fitness routine then the 75 minute workout I normally do! She offers coaching & mentoring from 17 to 70. Ask her for a FREE assessment TODAY! I love the 24/7 aspect of Goodlife Fitness Centre. The machines, free weights and facility rooms are always clean and accessible. Goodlife offers a meditation, training, cycling and specialty room for individual needs. Whether you like Hammer Strength machines, free weights or kettle bells - they have it all. Disinfectant spray/paper towel stations are situated through out the gym to encourage a sanitary environment. There is special for rate high school students, full locker rooms, showers, sauna and massage chairs. That last one is almost worth going for the massages only:) The staff is helpful, friendly and quick to deal with any concerns. For those interested in specific training you can book personal fitness trainers to help you to meet your individual goals. Prices are very reasonable and at the time of this review the payments are bi-monthly. (Due to personal privacy I did not take any pictures of members - and as it is always busy, it was hard to get facility images.) Happy fitness!
