I strongly urge anyone looking to have work done to go somewhere else. I cannot stress that enough, this shop and my experience with them involved repeated dishonesty, poor workmanship, and a refusal to take responsibility for their own work. After servicing my truck, they later claimed that issues with the same components were not covered under warranty, even though they were the last shop to work on those parts. The invoice clearly states the warranty covers 24 months or 40,000 km, yet they attempted to deny coverage by incorrectly claiming I had driven more than 1,600 km since the service date, which was not accurate. There were also several serious mistakes and oversights: • They left an industrial booster pack in my truck after the repair and had to send someone to my work site to retrieve it. • They failed to properly torque the lug nuts on my wheels, which is a major safety issue. • They claimed to perform a full vehicle inspection, yet completely missed a broken leaf spring eye and a failing U-joint in the driveshaft. The failing U-joint was particularly frustrating because I had specifically told them during the initial conversation that I suspected it was failing, and that concern was documented on the invoice. Despite this, it was not properly inspected or addressed. Shortly after the work was completed, they revoked my access to the digital inspection report, which raises serious concerns about the accuracy of what was actually inspected. There were also problems related to my Smart Start ignition interlock device. The shop failed to contact the Smart Start office to obtain the unlock code required to perform the work. Because of this oversight, the vehicle registered a violation. Interestingly, they had no trouble contacting Smart Start to obtain the code during my first visit, but did not bother to do so when the vehicle returned for warranty service. When I later asked them for documentation showing that the vehicle was in their possession at the time of the violation, they refused to provide anything and claimed there were no records because “no work had been completed.” This statement was not true, as they had serviced a caliper bolt during that visit (which they described as being done “in good faith,” even though it should have been covered under warranty). Despite spending nearly $2,000 at this shop, the poor inspection and incomplete repairs ultimately led to significantly more damage. I later had to replace multiple suspension components, as well as the driveshaft and U-joints, costing thousands of additional dollars. Ironically, those were the exact issues I originally brought the vehicle in to have inspected. Overall, this experience involved poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and misleading information. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone looking for reliable service.

Amazing service overall! I brought my car in for damage from the recent event where the city decided snow clearing was optional. They made sure to check every aspect of potential damage and sent me a detailed estimate. Work was done quickly and I was quite pleased with the results. The speed and ease of the whole process was impressive given the time of year I brought my car in. The staff were not only friendly but also super knowledgeable. I honestly can’t say enough good things about my experience here.

Extremely Disappointed – Worst Auto Repair Experience I’ve Ever Had I took my 2017 Mercedes GLS to EC Auto Repair Edmonton on November 2, 2025, and it turned into one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any mechanic shop. My vehicle stayed in their shop for 4 days, and after the inspection they told me that my driver-side lower control arm was broken and that the thermostat needed replacement. They charged me $3,600, but never provided any proof, photos, or explanation showing that the arm was actually broken. They also refused to give me the parts invoice, never showed the cost of the parts they used, and provided no breakdown at all. They charged me $2,200 just for labor, yet this job normally takes around 3 hours, not multiple days. When I asked for labor rate, time, or details, they didn’t provide anything. The whole process felt unprofessional, unclear, and extremely overpriced. The worst part is that after I picked up my car, it had even bigger problems than before. The vehicle started having new issues immediately, and now I have to take it to another certified Mercedes mechanic to fix whatever was done to it. I honestly have no idea what they did to my car, but the quality of work seems extremely poor. I am very disappointed and strongly warn anyone with a high-end vehicle: do not trust this shop with your car. They provided no transparency, no proof, no proper documentation, overcharged for labor, and returned my car in worse condition than it arrived.

Will never bring my vehicle here again, and I definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone. I was fully charged for an “inspection” that ended with them literally telling me to take my car to the manufacturer because they don’t have the proper equipment. So basically… I paid for absolutely nothing. The woman at the front desk couldn’t even get my information right. She had to reprint my paperwork three separate times - wrong vehicle, wrong spelling of my name, wrong phone number. That should’ve been my sign to leave. They didn’t top up a single fluid either. I was completely out of windshield washer fluid, and somehow even that was too complicated. Total rip-off. Don’t waste your time or your money. And honestly, judging by the other reviews, I’m sure they’ll jump in with some defensive excuse.... But the pattern speaks for itself. 😉 If zero stars were an option, that’s what they’d get. Cheers.

Thank you, to Emilia and staff for the kind and proffessional help I experienced as they took care of my car needs. My car was salvaged, so they took efficient care of the whole process to have my car registered as rebuilt. Not having ever gone through a claim like this before, Emilia guided me along in the needed steps to take as everything, the inspection, the repair and the reregistration was all time senstive. I highly recommend EC Auto Repair to anyone looking for an efficent and honest repair to your car or truck when needed!! They went the extra mile for me for sure!! Thanks so much again.
