Earls Kitchen + Bar

I ordered the truffle tortellini ($28) with added prawns ($7.50). The tortellini itself was delicious. However, I am disappointed that I paid $7.50 for 4 pieces of shrimp. It is such a rip off considering I can buy a bag of 40 frozen shrimp at Costco for $16. I understand that restaurants get you to pay more for what you get but I think the added charge for the amount of prawns that I got was ridiculous. I asked the waitress if I could possibly add more and she said I could but it’d be an extra charge. To clarify I asked, “So it’s a $7.50 charge for 4 little pieces of shrimp?” and to which she replied “yup.” Therefore, if you’re ordering at Earls be cautious with the menu as it is very misleading.

My partner and I went to Earls on a whim for dinner, and it was excellent! We started with the yuzu calamari, then had steak mains. All of the food was delicious and the steaks were cooked perfectly! Our cocktails were also well made - enough so that we ordered a second round. :) The highlight of our meal was the excellent service of our server, Julietta. She was friendly and highly attentive from the very start of our meal, and thoughtfully offered to move us to a quieter section of the restaurant when a large group at the next table became boisterous. She also brought us each desserts when she found out we were celebrating some recent personal and academic successes! Julietta truly provided the best dining service that my partner and I have recently experienced. :)
