The Auto Centre had no car in sight at the station and the staff was busy chit chatting. We approached them to help with tires and the lady over there plainly denied saying she has no time. While they were clearly sitting idle and it was still 3 hours left for the shop to close.

I brought my Ford Focus to Canadian Tire North Red Deer for some front suspension work and to check out a noise coming from the brakes. I ended up spending around $1,500. They said everything was taken care of, but as soon as I drove the car, the exact same noise was still there. It honestly felt like nothing was fixed. I was really disappointed because that’s a lot of money to spend and still leave with the same issue. No clear explanation, no follow-up, just handed the keys back and sent me on my way. I expected better. At the very least, if they couldn’t fix it, they should’ve been honest about it. Definitely not going back there. Very frustrating experience.

I’ve officially had it with the Canadian Tire at 8 Ave NE, Calgary. I went in two weeks ago to purchase a brand-new set of alloy wheels and tires for my Honda Civic—products I had already carefully selected through their website. But the customer service at this location was absolutely terrible. The person at the tire counter told me the alloy wheels were discontinued, which I could understand—but what I couldn’t accept was the complete lack of effort to help me find alternatives. When I mentioned that the website still showed availability with delivery in 8–10 days, I was bluntly told, “Then order online.” No interest in helping, no suggestions, just rude and dismissive. Then, I asked if I could pay for the tires they had in stock and hold them until the wheels arrived. Again, the answer was just, “If you buy them, you take them.” No flexibility, no customer care. I even spoke with the manager, hoping for a better attitude, but unfortunately, I was met with the same unprofessional and unhelpful behavior. This isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had at this location, but it will absolutely be my last. Now here’s the positive part: the next day, on my way to Edmonton, I stopped at the Canadian Tire in Red Deer—and the difference was unbelievable. The staff there were friendly, professional, and actually knew what customer service means. They helped me order the exact same alloy wheels and tires I originally wanted, without any hassle or attitude. Today, I finally had them installed, and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received in Red Deer. To anyone in NE Calgary: Avoid the 8 Ave NE location and go to Deerfoot City or even drive to Red Deer if you can. The extra effort is worth it when you're treated with actual respect and care.

Was reluctant to take my truck there do to terrible experience more than 10 years ago. I needed services done that day, my dealer that I bought my truck from couldn't fit me in that day and could only do it the next day. So I had to go to Canadian Tire, and was shocked at how great the honesty and service was. I also had my services done for pretty close to half the price my dealers quote was. I hope this service continues, times are tough and it's even tougher finding honest folks that aren't out to make an extra buck off of you. Thanks Canadian Tire Noth End Red Deer
