Hi Sean, Melissa, and the Alliance team! I started to train here back when the gym was still called "First Stike," and still try to drop in for a class when I'm in town. I want to thank you guys so much for your studio and the time I spent training there. I still carry so many lessons and memories--from understanding my own strength to learning not to judge people's hearts based on their looks. The way you guys push, encourage, teach discipline, and empower each person is so valuable and meant everything to me. I really needed that, especially in high school!!

Alliance Jiu Jitsu Kelowna is a spectacular place to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am a beginner with six months of training, and I have already improved my confidence, physical condition, stress management and discipline. It has been a true transformation. Professors Cleber and Sean are world-class teachers. They support every student according to their level, without pressure, and always with a strong focus on self-defense and personal growth. The atmosphere is humble, friendly and full of positive energy, which makes learning both safe and enjoyable. The academy is very clean—Sean cleans after every class—and it is conveniently located with plenty of parking, which makes it easy to come consistently. I one hundred percent recommend Alliance Jiu Jitsu Kelowna to anyone looking to start or continue their BJJ journey. It is a place that genuinely helps you grow.

What a great gym. Great trainers, great people, great atmosphere, great everything. If you’re looking for a very friendly and comfortable place to start or even transition your Jiu Jitsu or Kickboxing journey this is the place. The owners are incredibly supportive and friendly, you can’t not enjoy it here.

I love this place, the atmosphere is a perfect mix of competitive and welcoming. Ive been training in Alliance Kelownas BJJ and Kickboxing program for 5 months now, the instruction from both Kleber the Jiu Jistu professor and Mitch the kickboxing coach is top tier. In addition to top tier instruction, the people here are also insanely welcoming, I have made lots of new friends here. 10/10, would recommend.

My daughter (24) has been training at Alliance for over a year and can’t say enough about how great it is (she does jujitsu and kickboxing there). I decided to give a kickboxing class a try (I’m a 52 year old woman - complete beginner) and would give a 10 star rating if I could. From the moment I stepped in the door and met Sean and his team, I felt 100% comfortable and accepted. This has to be the least intimidating gym I’ve ever been in, and the culture they foster is one of learning at your own pace with encouragement and support. Although the class was multi-levelled, I was encouraged to go at my own pace and was positively supported throughout the entire class (not feeling comfortable with the end of class sparring I chose to watch and felt like it was completely acceptable to do as much/as little I felt comfortable with doing). Would highly recommend this for anyone - from beginner to advanced (watched black belts train and understand they have high level coaches).
