After trying several nail salons in the Burnaby/Coquitlam area, I was frustrated because most places filed my nails down all the way, leaving them paper-thin and in bad condition. Then I discovered XO Nails, and I’ve been going there ever since. They genuinely care about the health of your nails and take the time to care for them properly. I always get builder gel, and my nails grow out strong, never break, and stay perfect for the full four weeks until my next appointment (picture is after 4 weeks!). Tommy is my go-to technician; he’s warm, welcoming, and truly values the client relationship. I highly recommend XO Nails to anyone looking for quality nail care!

I had such an amazing experience at this salon! Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and accommodating—they made the entire visit so enjoyable. My Gel-X extensions turned out absolutely stunning and perfectly done. Tommy was amazing, and I had a great time—this was my first time getting nail extensions! Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality service and a relaxing experience. I’ve definitely found my new favourite salon!

Is my first time at the salon and they did such a great job. They were so nice to me. I felt so welcomed The girls worked so well on my nails and fixed any concern that I had and Tommy was so fun to talk to, They took me in right away, Redid the nail colour for me completely because it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, which was so so nice of them to do, And it was 20% off my first service which was like unheard of Overall will totally be coming back again.

I had a very bad experience at this salon. I booked a Builder Gel + Acrylic Length appointment, but from the beginning, they kept pushing me to add fake tips, even though I just wanted short, natural builder gel extensions. One of the male staff showed me scary pictures and said builder gel was “too hard” to do, so I felt pressured to accept something I didn’t want. The nail tech rushed the whole appointment in just 40 minutes (it was supposed to be at least 60 minutes). After the nails were done, I noticed many problems: there were bubbles, lifting at the base, glue all over my skin, and the surface was bumpy with dots and dents. It looked messy near the cuticles and felt really uncomfortable on all ten fingers—I couldn’t sleep properly because of how bad it felt. I asked for a proper fix, but they only offered to remove the nails or change the color—not redo the builder gel properly. They also didn’t reply to my texts afterward (attached screenshot). The owner later replied to my review online and said I confirmed the design “over 40 times,” which is completely false—I only confirmed the color twice. They exaggerated everything and didn’t take responsibility. I really regret going there. If you are thinking of trying this place, please be careful. Don’t let them talk you into something you don’t want. My nails were not only badly done, but they also made me feel physically uncomfortable and mentally stressed !!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭 I had to pay extra at another salon later that afternoon just to get them safely removed, because they were done so poorly and roughly here.

I had a disappointing experience at this salon and wanted to share it honestly to help others make an informed decision. I booked a Builder Gel + Acrylic Length appointment. From the start, I felt pressured into getting fake tips, even though I had clearly asked for a short, natural extension. The technician who did my nails was an older woman who seemed rushed and not very attentive to detail. The whole appointment took just about 40 minutes, which I later realized was far too quick for a proper builder gel application. Shortly after leaving, I noticed several serious issues: 1. The surface of the gel was full of bubbles, and some nails already showed signs of lifting (separation at the base). 2. Glue had overflowed onto the sides of my nails and my skin. 3. The shape and finish were inconsistent, especially around the cuticle area, which looked messy and poorly sealed. 4. Most concerning, some nails felt loose from day one, which means the product wasn’t bonded properly. When I brought up my concerns, I was only offered two options: a full removal, or just a color change – neither of which addressed the actual problem: poor application and technique. I was expecting a more responsible solution, like a proper repair or a partial redo. On top of that, the way this salon handles negative feedback is honestly disappointing. The owner tends to respond in a very defensive way, often blaming the customer. In my case, they falsely claimed I confirmed the design “over 40 times” – when in reality, I only confirmed the color twice. It felt like they were more interested in saving face than actually listening to the issue. Overall, this place might seem well-rated, but my experience didn’t reflect that at all. If you’re looking for professionalism, quality work, and accountability, I’d suggest going somewhere else.
