After my normal vet told me that they couldn't see my dog with facial swelling for over a week, I called Whatcom Vet on my mom's recommendation. The wonderful office staff were able to get me in within a half hour of calling. Dr Johnson was able to determine that my dog's tooth needed to be pulled, and they performed the surgery the following week. the vet tech, Nancy, was very informative and kind, and I knew that my girl was in the best of hands. My dog has recovered with absolutely no issues, and I will not hesitate to bring her back. Thank you for setting the standard for animal care!

I recently had a pretty rough experience with my vet's office. My husband took our dog in for a nail trim, and the cost was a whopping $71 - that's a 50% increase from what we paid just a few months ago! When I called to question the price, I spoke with the office manager, who didn't exactly handle the situation in a way that made me feel like a valued customer. She seemed to imply that I was being immature for speaking up about the price hike, which didn't exactly put me at ease. I felt like we were taken advantage of, especially since it wasn't posted anywhere and we weren't warned about the increase beforehand. The manager's explanation was that they need to pay their staff fairly, but I'm all about transparency and giving customers a heads up when prices change. I'm just disappointed that a vet's office I trusted would nickel and dime me like this. If you're thinking of taking your pet there, just be aware and ask plenty of questions. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am scared that there are many more hidden agendas that are not at the best interest of our fur babies. This is the 2nd time that something like this has happened. There will not be a 3rd time !

Our anxious pup had a pleasant experience meeting the staff at Whatcom Vet! Dr. Donaldson is thorough, knowledgeable, and patient. The tech was awesome, too. Overall it was the best experience we've had bringing our dog to a vet, highly recommend!

We had kind of a unique situation where our 8 week old German Shepherd puppy escaped her enclosure and grabbed a toy belonging to one of our adult large breed dogs, who proceeded to attack her. She had two puncture wounds, a bruised lung, two fractured ribs and one rib that was broken and twisted. That all happened in a matter of seconds, luckily we were close by. We got her to the ER in Bellingham for stabilization overnight and then took her to Whatcom Veterinary Hospital first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, they had to open her up to reposition and secure the twisted rib. The job exceeded what they were equipped for but not the expert knowledge they had and where they were lacking in equipment (chest tube, ventilator), they made up for with ingenuity and determination and got the job done. All said and done, our puppy is back to being as playful and happy as you’d expect and gets her stitches out in a few days. All of our animals will now be going to Whatcom Veterinary Hospital, which is perfect timing because our normal vet had recently passed. Top notch crew over there. Highly recommend.

Hi Whatcom County! I just wanted to share my experience with W.V.H and give them a shout out. My dog, like most of us, is my child. Lemme just gloat about my baby. His name is Fry. He’s a big 100lb black lab/ shepard, with the most gorgeous face, and Dobby like ears when he sashays away. He is two years old. Annnd he was just diagnosed with chylothorax this last September. He’s been getting fluid in his lungs. A disease that comes sometimes with no reasons. October 2nd We came in never being a patient here. You all showed me the most kindness I’ve received from a vet facility in DECADES in under 15 minutes. Dr. Donaldson, Nancy, everyone who pitched in today, thank you from the bottom of my heart. They treated Fry so thoroughly and kindly. That I will absolutely be back to handle all of Fry’s needs from here on out. *puppy teefs for a laugh. Absolutely bring your animals here. Many Thanks to W.V.H 💗 The Dougherty’s
