I want to give a big thank you to Dr. Uribe and all the staff and students at the Small Animal Clinic. They went above and beyond and did everything they could to try and save our sick cat Binky. They were very friendly, supportive, knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable in a very tough situation. We know our cat was very well looked after and we appreciate all the phone calls, updates and frequent visits they let us make. Really good experience overall. The vet was kind and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Testing for our dog was done promptly, and all the staff, from reception to the students and techs, were friendly and helpful. It is a teaching clinic so things can take a bit longer, but the level of care really shows.

The staff is incredible, from the front reception to all the nurses and doctors, residents, pharmacists!! We brought our 4 yr old dog in to emergency after hours and the staff was quick to respond and compassionate in their care. They communicated everything in a respectful professional manner. They genuinely cared about our dog and provided her with the best care for her 3 nights in ICU. Everyone was so compassionate on how we were doing emotionally. I will always be forever grateful for their support, care and excellent communication! Our dog is doing great thanks to their immediate attention on arrival and quick diagnosis of her condition. I would highly recommend WCVM to all pet owners!

My three year old standard poodle underwent his laparoscopically-assisted gastropexy at the clinic. I was very impressed with the staff. A fourth year student conducted our pre-op consult along with the vet who performed his surgery. They answered all my questions thoroughly and were very understanding of my dog's fear of strangers. The same student followed our case the whole way through, gave us a phone update after the surgery, and met us at pick up to answer our questions about aftercare. The vet who performed the surgery was in the OR when we picked our dog up but took the time to call us and make sure we had no concerns before the end of his shift which was very kind! It was well worth the drive from Winnipeg to know our furry lad got the very best care. Would come back in a heartbeat for any future surgery he needs.
