Cannot believe I have to go out in public with these nails. I usually have an okay experience at this salon but after my last couple times, I’m giving up. The appointment took way too long, by the time she finally got done shaping we were at least an hour into the appointment . The shaping was also absolutely terrible. I saw a small mistake during the appointment (my thumbs are two very different lengths and widths), but everything else seemed fine, until I got home. I got a closer look and saw how incredibly thick everything was, how messy the art was, and how weirdly long my right ring finger nail was. She told me she only works there part time so that could be why, but in that case, training needs to be better. I’d be fine paying a discounted price for a student but $74 + tip?? For this?? Absurd. (Btw, we started at 2:30 pm and I didn’t leave until 5 pm) I think there was also a communication barrier as everytime I’d say something about the nails that would make it easier for her (she was taking so long I needed to find a way to get home at some point), she’d give me a blank stare or say something completely opposite to what I meant. It was incredibly frustrating and made me want to learn how to do nails myself. I also asked for ballerina shape, pretty much a mix between stiletto and coffin, and it seemed like she had no clue what I was talking about. We had discussed me getting a fill instead of a full set (both over the phone and in person) and she still removed the tips (the wrong way) and did a full new set. I also showed her a picture of the design I wanted (i literally said “I have a picture of what I want if it’s possible” and showed her), then pointed out that I wanted two of the nails to be a chrome silver design instead of the black design in the picture (the same design, just literally a different colour). She proceeds to put chrome on two of the nails I wanted to be like the picture. I realized what she was doing after she had already done it. I’ve added pictures and circled what I asked for the be silver chrome instead of black. I don’t usually call people out in my reviews but maybe it’ll help other people decide if they really want to risk it. If you’re coming here, I’d recommend booking with Carolyn or Twee, this appointment I had Kim T. and my last appointment was with Carmen (also was not satisfied but it wasn’t nearly as bad as this most recent one). :(

I absolutely appreciate the atmosphere and care they take. Kim is incredibly kind and gives off such calming energy. Not only that but she was absolutely amazing! If I could give a higher rating than 5 stars I totally would.

Virgo Nail Bar is the BEST! I always have impeccable service and a great time with the ladies working there. Twee is a master at her craft and I am always impressed with her attention to detail and ability to keep my natural nails healthy and strong. She is also patient and kind, even when I am difficult in picking a colour or design. Carolyn is also fantastic at her work. Her ability to take a design from a picture and make it better and her own is incredible. Even when she does acrylics they look so good I mistake them for natural nails. Both these ladies make coming to the nail salon a favourable experience and I wouldn’t go anywhere else, this is the only place I trust to take care of my nails for the last 4 years! Please go support this business as these women truly know their craft and you will not be disappointed.

extremely disappointed with this place. i called to have my nails soaked off, and i had to clarify multiple times that the nails would be soaked off rather than ripped off, and they confirmed my service as a soak off. when i arrived, i had 2 ladies doing my removal so that they would be able to “go home early” in their words. i wanted a soak off specifically, as i have been trying to grow my nails for 3 months now and did not want to damage my natural nails further by having my acrylics ripped off. one of the nail technicians started to take my acrylics off WITH AN ACRYLIC NAIL TIP. when i told her that it hurt, she told me to “just relax”. furthermore, i asked they don’t cut down my natural nails, and they continued to cut them down very short after 3 months of growing them. to add, they were so rough and ended up cutting me with their file. not only that, but they couldn’t even bother to file my nails properly (photo attached below). i’m assuming they didn’t do an actual soak off as they were in a rush to go back home. however, if i knew my nails would’ve been ripped off, i could have done that myself at home. they charged me $20 TO RIP MY NAILS OFF, AND NOT EVEN WITH PROPER TOOLS. i’d appreciate my money back.

Wish I could give this a 0 to be honest. I asked for these nails and they were honestly so pretty. The woman who did my nails I felt could’ve done a bit better but I was happy with them. My mom took me there to get my nails done for my birthday as it was recommended by my grandma. My mom didn’t really like her nails either seeing as they already looked grown out when she got them done. My nails are pretty thin now and have ring of fire on every single one of them, smh.🤦‍♀️ my first time getting nails done and I would not recommend this place. I was so excited, too. Knew I should’ve said something tbh .
