It was fate. A few years ago my husband and I were walking down Main Street on Car Free Day and this beautiful person caught our eye and offered to take a Polaroid photo of us. We were in the very early stages of even thinking about a wedding but a spark was made. Cut to closer in our process, I had been doing my due diligence looking around at different photographers and styles but I could never shake that memory of Carissa, and when I would check in with her portfolio it was always clear… she was the ONLY choice. From the moment we reached out to reconnect and talk options and availability to now, long after the wedding the experience has been beyond fantastic. I would absolutely suggest planning both engagement or some kind of pre wedding session to allow Carissa to show you how to be comfortable taking pictures, we had the chance to do this and it made the event day feel so easy. I still dream of another chance to hire her to do it all again. My parents have a photo book of the wedding at their place in Ontario and we’re constantly getting messages from them about how their guests say how fabulous it all is. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding photographer than Carissa! From the very beginning, she was so caring, thoughtful, and incredibly supportive. Both my husband and I usually feel quite uncomfortable behind the camera, but she made us feel completely at ease and we genuinely had so much fun throughout the day when having our photos taken. She is extremely friendly, easy to talk to, and instantly made us feel relaxed, which made such a huge difference. When we received our photos, we were blown away. She captured the entire day perfectly. Everyone who has seen the photos has commented on how beautifully she captured all the laughter, joy, and emotion of the day. We were also so surprised by how much she managed to capture! From getting ready, to the ceremony, to our cocktail hour, speeches, dance floor, and so many other special moments. We LOVED Carissa. She was so fun and sweet. She made us feel so relaxed and like we had known her for years. She photographed our wedding and a friend of ours, who is getting married in March, wanted to hire Carissa on the spot! She had an amazing eye and the sneak peaks were fantastic. Choosing Carissa as our engagement photographer was one of the best decisions we ever made for our wedding journey! Communication and transparency were always 100% clear, and I know she worked HARD to make the delivery of the photos land on Valentines' Day! It was simply a blast shooting with her! Both me and my partner were nervous coming into the shoot as we've never done something like this before, but the second we met Carissa, her directions and suggestions were so natural, we had so much freakin' fun (my face was hurting from laughing and smiling so much!) and the entire experience was one of my FAVOURITE memories/dates ever! She really captured exactly what we envisioned but then went beyond that to give us the most amazing photos! We haven't stopped looking at them - they make us so happy! Thank you again Carissa!
