Posting this anonymously because I saw the way some people reacted to other girls asking questions and giving feedback in the studio. I really fell in love with pole dancing here but eventually just got so beaten down and defeated by the format of classes and the schedule that I had to quit. Some things I wished I could have shared in person: - No crash mats. The studio owns some but won't bring them out "because then you'd hurt yourself when we took the crash mats away". I would have loved the security of a crash mat when first learning to invert. - No clear requirements for moving up a level. I was stuck in the beginner class for two months learning nothing because my inverted crucifix wasn't perfect, only to get to the intermediate level with girls who couldn't invert at all. I spent weeks and weeks with the instructor not teaching me anything, only to see that other instructors had totally different requirements. This also means that classes have a wide variety of ability levels, so I often either feel way ahead or totally behind with no in between. -With some instructors I'd only be getting 10 minutes on the pole in a 60 minute session between having to do ice breaker games for the first 1-2 classes in a session, warming up, and sharing a pole. -They require you to sign up for one time slot, two months at a time. There's no flexibility and no visibility into what you'll learn in each class. If you get sick or have to travel or injure yourself you may get to take some makeup classes but you could just be SOL. Other studios I've seen will let you book more flexibly and tell you what moves you're learning in that class so you can practice more at the ones you suck at. I would have loved to take multiple classes a week when I was enjoying it so that I could see more progress but they don't seem interested in structuring things in a way that benefits students. -I didn't nail any new moves for months, partly because you'll learn a move once and they won't revisit it again until the next session in two months' time. Progress feels so slow, and I feel like they design it this way to get you to take more sessions of classes. I am not the best dancer but I worked really hard in class and felt like I wasn't set up for success. -We do the same damn dance at the end of every class. They teach you one piece of choreography at the beginner level and maybe this is petty but I was bored of it after doing it every single week for a year and a half. I wanted to learn new ways to put moves together that we've been learning in class! Choreo classes are completely detached from regular pole classes and (at least the two sessions I went to, one beginner one intermediate) do not use many moves learned in class so it's all new.

Gotta tell you I love The Goddess Movement! They are solely responsible for turning my curiosity for dance and movement into a strong passion. And as a member of the LGBTQ+, I have always felt welcomed and safe around the instructors and fellow dancers. This place holds a special place in my heart and I'd recommend it to anyone interested.

A fantastic adult dance community. Welcoming, supportive and non judgemental. These classes are great for ex-dancers or complete beginners. A safe space for all people to find their authentic self expression through movement. A wonderful activity to help build confidence and meet others in the community. They offer drop in classes (multi genre), pole, and a performance based program! Highly recommend!

Love the Goddess Movement. The studio is great and the instructors are all very skilled at what they do. The pricing is more than fair for the level of tutelage. What stands out, however, is that this studio teaches way more than dance. They teach love and respect for self. They teach the joy of movement. They teach their students that we are all full of grace and beauty, regardless of size, age, or skills. I highly recommend this studio for your fitness and self-love journey.
