I am very pleased in working with Smart Home and dedicated contractor. Joe's attention to detail is superb his leadership is number one. Joe always follows up with his clients in a timely manner and goes through each project individually in depth explaining the process. We recently had smart homes replace our roof, siding, window vinyl patching, and replaced our back door. The final results look good, and the work seems to be done properly. The crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves, which we appreciated. The only downside was the communication. There were times when we didn’t know what was happening next, and there were a few delays that weren’t clearly explained. Once the work actually started, things went smoother and the quality of the work was solid. Overall, the experience was okay. The finished product turned out well, but the process could have been more organized and consistent. 5 stars for quality of work but 3 stars due to the communication.

Smart home was great to deal with. They came to my house showed me the best product and warranties. They started out strong. The roof was done in no time. Then I realized the company had no sub contractors of their own. The soffit Facia and eves were to be done. My calls and concerns were brushed aside. Water came off the roof leaving tons of ice at every door. They kept telling me it’s hard to find trades. Then when they found a company to start the Facia and eves, the left extreme amounts of garbage, nails all over our driveway and door ways. I called smart home, nothing was done. I had to clean up every day, or I would be paying for tires to be fixed. One employee for smart home is Brad. He was called and text. He usually never answered. So I stop calling him and called Joe. Finally the job was done. They all did a professional job. But the stress they put me through was unacceptable. They told me they were so busy because of the hail damage Calgary was dealing with the year before. Not my problem. Don’t promise what you can’t give.

I loved working with Joe and the entire SmartHome team for my metal roof. I am a very particular person and care significantly about the fine details of a job. Joe was very patient and accommodating with my preferences and put a level of care and detail into my home as if he owned it himself. I was thoroughly impressed with the initial planning process and was even more impressed with the actual execution of the job. The team was effective, efficient, and showed great attention to detail throughout the entire process. Well worth the investment of a metal roof and you can’t go wrong with Joe and the SmartHome team. I’ll never have to buy another metal roof again on this house because of the longevity of the product but if I ever need another roof on a future property, I’ll definitely be coming back to SmartHome! Well done and thank you for the incredible job!

We talked with Joe a number of months before the renovation but at that time we were focused on renovating the interior so we had it in mind of what we wanted to do but left it for a few months. We contacted Joe in August which was a number of months later and he asked if we were ready to do this and the interior was looking good but the exterior was shabby so I was more than ready to get going on it. We heard originally October but to my surprise they started in September. First was to take off the siding and stucco. Hands off to Chris who worked his butt off while battling health issues. Getting that stucco off was a real chore but he did it without making a mess of everything. He cleaned up as he went daily and we didn't have to live through construction garbage being left around. Eavestroughs were the second last thing and they did a fantastic job channeling water smartly away from the property. We had some water damage from our previous system and Joe's team replaced the damaged wood and put in better eavestroughs. The last part was the garage door and now the house looks brand new again. Five stars all around and if you are looking for someone who you can trust and sticks to his work then I would recommend Smart Home Building Systems any day.
