First time customer - Heard great things from a couple of friends so thought I’d give it a shot. TLDR; The girls are very lovely, but the final haircut is just fine… I had to style my hair at home just to make sure I could work with it. But there is a big chunk of hair at the back that was left untouched and there’s a big gap between the layers. Scalp detox was too short for my liking, but it was refreshing. May have gotten overcharged. To start off, the hair wash session before my haircut felt slightly disappointing. The scalp detox shampoo felt good and refreshing, and the hair intern let it sit for a couple of minutes, but I was anticipating a deeper scalp massage. The quick massage I experienced was a few fast scrunching motions on my scalp. I’m also used to having the conditioner sit in my hair for longer but the hair intern rinsed it out quite quickly. I gave Juri creative freedom but I told her I wanted layers. At first glance, the haircut looked good. But I have frizzy/wavy hair and Juri didn’t take the time to blow dry the frizz down. My frizzy hair is not a problem I have at my regular hair salon so I was disappointed by feeling the need to re-style my haircut when I got home. Upon payment, I was charged $75 without realizing. According to my booking confirmation, it indicates that a haircut with Juri is $65. Please confirm why I was charged $75 for my haircut as my haircut was not complicated nor did I book with the Director. Juri did a satisfactory job and the layers she created frames my face well. However, she clipped up a section of my hair at the back and left it pretty much untouched. When I got home, I noticed that section is not blended up to my layers. I had to re-style my hair to figure out how to blend the section. The salon is very pretty and clean and the stylists are all very nice. But I am unsure if I will be a returning client.

I had a lovely experience at Damda. I booked an appointment for a haircut with the director, Zena, and she was absolutely wonderful. I’ve never left a hair salon feeling this satisfied. The space was clean, welcoming and beautifully designed. Highly recommend!

I had the hair/scalp spa treatment. It was HEAVENLY. It’s aimed at scalp health rather than just hair, so it helps hair grow strong from the roots. They have little lockers with keys for your stuff so no need to worry about losing anything. When you down, they also give you a cushion to rest your arms. Then they do the scalp analysis, which is gross but so cool. They take photos with a little machine of your scalp and it will analyze everything you can think of. It even measures odour. Then you get the basic rundown of your results, a short and sweet explanation of the products that are customized to your scalp analysis, and off to heaven you go. The chair is a lie flat massage chair and you can control the levels. You get a short head massage when they shampoo and condition and it just made me melt. After scalp cleansing, you get a carbonated tablet wash which is supposed to be good for really getting all the gunk off your scalp. It feels like a gentle waterfall! The steam also feels super nice. The last step for me was a scalp toner. So refreshing! Almost like it had menthol. They airbrush it on to make it easier for your scalp to absorb, which is extra cool. Then you get another scalp analysis and you can get the QR code to see your results anytime. If you ever need to treat yourself, this is it!! I can’t wait to bring my mom here so she can have a relaxing time getting pampered. You can really feel there’s a lot of research and time that went into this process. They even told me it supports hair regrowth as well.

Thank you Sean for making my first ever hair spa experience memorable! The way you walked me through the steps and recommending the best treatment to target my sensitive damaged scalp 😬. I was able to have a very relaxing power nap with that soothing waterfall and steam!! Look at how from being clogged to open and calm my scalp is now! The best thing is you get a personalized after care card from them!!! I also got the chance to meet Zena the owner! who is equally warm and friendly! I will definitely recommend on having this treatment to all my friends!! Please open a location in Vancouver! 🤍 감사합니다~ ☺️

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an amazing sculpt treatment and facial! Damda offers a variety of skincare options to choose from, and the spa room provides such a relaxing environment. I got the calming treatment as my skin was recently very irritated due to the unpredictable Vancouver weather, and I could see that the redness on my cheeks had disappeared after the session. Also got the sculpt treatment which was my first time getting it and it is totally worth it. You can get the sculpt treatment on the massage chair and the aroma oil and shampoo that Damda uses smell amazing which enhances the whole treatment. Such an amazing and unique experience that I haven't had here. Lastly it is an insta worthy studio - super aesthetic and cozy. Would definitely go back!
