I booked two appointments for my sister and me to get pedicures and have our nails done together, hoping it would be a relaxing experience, but unfortunately it was disappointing. I’ve definitely had better pedicures elsewhere. To make matters worse, one of my nails popped off the very next day — which is especially frustrating since it happened right as I was traveling for vacation. I’m now hoping I can find nail glue to fix it because I don’t want it to look awkward. They don’t seem to specialize in nail designs; simple nails are fine, but anything beyond that may not be their strength. I also didn’t like that the price changed from the beginning of the appointment to the time it was time to pay — that was very disappointing and unprofessional. The one positive I will mention is that the location is convenient. Overall, I was expecting much better quality and consistency for the price.

I have Been a loyal customer for the past three years. Bruce and Lena keep their space very clean and tidy, and their staff is always friendly and happy. Lena’s nails are always on point and Bruce manages the salon with Kindness and care. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is unmatched. with Christmas coming, they are always on trend with their designs and will do or match anything you bring them

I used their waxing service, and it was hands down the worst experience of my life. I actually had to walk out mid-session because I just couldn't take it anymore. It started with a massive language barrier. I understand not everyone speaks fluent English — and that’s okay — but if you’re in the service industry, there should at least be enough communication to understand basic client concerns. The wax was piping hot and I was clearly in pain and tried expressing it every way I could — even ended up crying — but the aesthetician just kept going like nothing was wrong. She also spilled hot wax on my trousers and immediately poured oil over it, trying to rub it off like it was no big deal — completely ruined my clothes. I was shocked, and still, she didn’t acknowledge it, just continued with what she was doing. And the gloves? They stick to your skin like white on rice, do not get me started on them. This place is primarily a nail salon that offers waxing as an add-on — and it really shows. They are absolutely not equipped or trained to handle waxing properly. Two days later, I even noticed a burn-like patch on my underarms. Totally unacceptable. (See images and notice how poor a waxing job they did.) And to anyone thinking and the admin of this business who might end up responding to my review, “Why didn’t you say something?” — I did. I stopped the session, walked out, flagged my concerns right then and there. They did nothing. Just handed me my bill and sent me on my way. So yes — beware. This place is all about digital optics. They do not care about fixing their mistakes or treating clients with basic care and respect.

Every time I have gone to this nail salon I have left so relaxed and happy. I live 20 mins away from Richmond and have many nail salons closer to home but prefer to make the drive here to have the peace of mind that I will love my nails, the treatment and customer service at Refresh. Every time I have wanted a same day appointment, they are always happy to accommodate. They even fixed my nails once free of charge because I ended up not liking how they turned out (due to no fault of theirs) Highly recommend going here!
