Called for emergency toothache. Talked to receptionist with caring voice booked me instantly the same day. When I arrived took me couple mins to answer info sheet then immediately they are ready for me. The assistant emphatic with my concern while taking my xray and seated me to chair. The dentist came with good rapport with warmth asking me questions regarding my concern. Explains everything what needed to be done, every procedure, and every thing that I need to expect after the procedure. This one is the best dental experience. Applaused to the whole team. Well recommended have your teeth check here.

Terrible experience and systemic racism. We traveled from 2 and half hours north to have my girlfriends top 2 wisdom teeth removed and had our 4 month old with us. Our appointment was for 11am and after filling out paperwork for approximately 10 minutes and they had her go in without any discussion of what to expect. Within minutes I heard my girlfriend screaming "I feel it" and "that hurts", but heard them repeatedly saying "that's just the pressure". For reference she had a baby without an epidural and did not scream in this way once, so she has a high pain tolerance. I debated going to check on her, but had my baby, so I couldn't. She then came walking around the corner with tears in her eyes and gauze in her mouth. No dentist or even dental assistant came out to tell us about post operation care. A receptionist (who was very nice) told us we could get her medication at the pharmacy a few doors down and as we were about to leave remembered we needed a post operation care sheet to on how to care for the hole in her mouth that had not been stitched. I left in a bit of shock at what seemed a rushed process. I asked my girlfriend, if they took both teeth and she said no and that she didn't know why. I asked if she was ok and she replied "I felt everything and when I asked to be knocked out they said they don't do that". She said "I am starting to feel the freezing now, but that was awful. I felt everything". After gathering myself and requesting medication at the pharmacy. I went back to Prince Albert Dental to try to figure out what had just happened. I voiced that I was not happy with how my girlfriend was treated and the entire process seemed really rushed. I told them they did an awful job of pain management and I was told "you were here over an hour and there was lots of time for freezing to take effect". I reminded them our appointment was at 11, we filled out paperwork before, then drove down the parking after putting our four month old in her seat and I went in the sort out the prescription at a pharmacy I have never used. It is now 11:40 exactly. Do you think that may have been rushed for someone screaming in pain". I got blank stares and then one of the receptionist, who I did find helpful and kind, offered to call the dentist. I was frustrated at this point and let them know I would be looking into filing a formal complaint and left. Approximately 10 minutes later a calgary phone number called my girlfriend and it was the dentist. Unfortunately I did not catch her name. I appreciated the follow up at first, but at every concern I tried to bring up, she just tried to use medical terms to justify her actions and place all blame on my girlfriend. I believe she knows that she had a young indigenous girl in her chair and although technically she, "did her job", she showed no compassion for a young woman in a great deal of pain who repeatedly let her know she was hurting. I have seen similar comments of the rushed job this facility does and truly believe they felt a young Lac La Ronge Indian Band member, who only had coverage through NIHB, didn't deserve their time to do their job properly. The most infuriating part of the conversation is when I was doing my best to stay calm and voice my concerns. One of which was her only pulling one tooth after we paid for a hotel, I took a day and half off work and planned on having to have her top two wisdom pulled as the referral was for. She responded with "I get paid either way". I then lost my patience raised my voice, swore once and told her that I believe this was rooted in racism towards a young indigenous girl. She responded that due to her ethnic background that was not possible, but as a dentist I belive her position in society allows for her to discriminate against someone she feels is a lesser in the socio economic hierarchy, but that will be for her to decide and come to terms with on her own. My girlfriend has spent time in foster care, experienced trauma most could not imagine, but is a proud indigenous woman and new mother that did not deserve this treatment.

I had got a replacement partial from this place. I went in for the fitting and the wax partial had a bad over bite. The female dentist and her trainee said that it was fine. When I told them that I didn't like the over bite, they seemed bothered by me saying that. So she said she'll get them to push up the teeth. Came back to get my new partial and they didn't fit at all, the female dentist grabbed them and started to use a dermal on them to shape them. She then put them on me and the fit was super tight. I had told her that they were uncomfortable and tight, she said that it's normal. But too me that wasn't normal as this was my second partial and my first set didn't hurt that much putting them on. The partial still has an over bite as that was supposed to be fixed. Too me all they wanted was to get me in there and then push me out the door as quick as possible, without any care to be professional and do their job properly to make sure me, the patient is happy with their job making the partial. I am not happy, the partial they made does not fit well and hurts to wear it. I wouldn't recommend going to this dentist at all. Stay away and find a different dentist who cares about their work.
