First time with Emily and I genuinely love my haircut. I’ve been asking for big layers and thinned-out ends my whole life, and she absolutely nailed it. I honestly can’t stop looking at myself 😭 She truly cares about her clients and even took the time to show me how to style my curtain bangs (which is a huge deal because I have a cowlick). Love her so much, highly recommend!

I had such a great experience with Alexis! I’m normally very nervous about getting my hair cut because of past experiences, but she made me feel completely comfortable right from the start. She explained everything she was doing, checked in with me throughout, and genuinely cared about how I felt. The end result was amazing and I’m so happy with my hair. Highly recommend!

The hairstylists are wonderful but everytime I go for a blowout I'm always disappointed after paying $$. Got overcharged for the blowout and then when I called to rectify the situation, the receptionist hung up on me. They always seem just to blow-dry and that's it, even after I tell them I want it curled and it just falls flat. I really want to support pony tails and horseshoes but I'm just left disappointed everytime Update Thank you for responding. I do appreciate that you took the time to follow up, but I want to clarify that my review wasn’t written to misrepresent anything — it was written out of genuine disappointment as a returning client who has really tried to support Ponytails & Horseshoes over time. Each time I’ve come in for a blowout, I’ve left feeling underwhelmed, even after clearly explaining what I wanted. I’m usually specific about wanting curls or volume, but the end result always ends up flat and rushed. I continued booking because I really wanted to love the place and support local stylists, but after multiple visits and paying a premium price, it’s been frustrating to leave unhappy. As for the recent visit, I did call to discuss the overcharge, and while I understand errors happen, the conversation left me feeling dismissed — especially being hung up on. Even if that wasn’t intentional, that moment shaped how I felt about the whole interaction. A calm, respectful tone and simple explanation would’ve gone a long way. I’m not questioning the professionalism of your team as individuals, but I do feel the customer experience could be handled with more empathy and less defensiveness. It’s disappointing that instead of acknowledging how the situation might have felt from my side, your response focuses on “records” and “footage.” I wasn’t trying to cause trouble — just to share an honest experience and get clarity. I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it’s meant: as constructive, from someone who genuinely wanted to keep supporting your business but left feeling unheard and undervalued.

Saw Alexis yesterday — what an amazing experience! I have very long, thick hair, and she spent two hours making sure every detail was perfect, all for such a reasonable price. I can’t recommend her enough.
