We've been coming to this location since open. At first, it was amazing, but now, it's gone down hill FAST. They have had multiple machines broken for 4 months at this point (3 treadmills, two leg curls, and a machine in the 30 minute workout zone). Not to mention they refuse to bring in a hack-squat machine/leg press. They recently revamped the layout, but that means removing a few machines to make room for more cardio machines (which were ellipticals and barely anyone uses them). Staff also don't do anything about people coming into the 30 minute workout zone just to use the one machine because the other ones out on the floor are taken. On top of that, people at Planet Fitness are there for optics, not to work out. We are sick and tired of people taking up a machine for 10+ minutes because they sit on their phone for 2-3 minutes between sets. There needs to be a time limit for machines. It's sad that my wife and I can do 3 different lifts on 3 different machines in the same amount of time it takes one person to do one lift on one machine. We can't wait for the Good Life to open up on James Mowatt so we can cancel our memberships.

I’ve been a regular member here for sometime now. Based on my personal experience, overall, this location offers good value for the price, but there are some issues that require looking into. Pricing & Value • The $50 annual fee feels unjustified and makes the overall cost higher than it initially appears. So you need to take that into account when signing up to make an informed decision, so you can compare to other gym's in your area. • Full price beverages for non–Black Card members feels unreasonable, and should be offered to all members. Just to point out that even with the 50% discount to Black card members, I personally haven't seen anyone getting any beverage from the cooler since I joined. • Very limited healthy snack options in the front, especially low sugar choices. Facility & Maintenance • The gym flooring is good, but feels uneven and wobbly on some spots, causing barbells and dumbbells to roll. • Only one rack of dumbbells (all sizes) is available along the back wall, which creates congestion, and forces people to borrow from the front line by the giant mirror and they just leave it randomly somewhere on the floor • At times, three TV screens are playing the same channel, which is frustrating and unnecessary given the number of screens available (8 total). • The large ceiling fans sometimes run at high speeds, making the gym feel uncomfortably cold, especially during winter months, and when it's less crowded, and required adjustments throughout the day. Layout & Space Usage • The "Yellow" workout station in the corner takes up a large amount of space but is rarely used. I almost never see people training there. This area can be utilized better, as there is very limited open floor space for mats, stretching, or bodyweight exercises in the back area, and often times, members struggle to find a spot to lay their mat on. Staff & Customer Experience • Most staff members are friendly and approachable. However, some newer, younger employees, appear to lack adequate customer service training. Entrance / Shoe Area Issues • In winter, members removing boots, they end up with dirty, wet socks while walking in to the lockers room due to water near the dispenser and foot traffic. There's a sign to leave your wet boots prior coming in, but some members don't comply. • There’s no smooth or convenient internal access between the gym and Walmart store. Members must exit fully to shop, and re-entry can feel awkward or inconvenient. A dedicated passage or secondary shoe rack area would help. Also, I should mention that the app is good and informative. However, the crowd meter is inaccurate and doesn’t really reflect the reality and needs to be improved.

I’ve had many positive visits here in the past, yet cancelling my membership has been a complete hassle. I went in person at the Currents Planet fitness Edmonton location — signed the cancellation document with staff, following all the proper steps — yet my account continued to be charged from March 2024, including annual fees. Promised callbacks from manager Ankita never came, emails were ignored, and even after she confirmed the cancellation, I was still charged for another four months with no email confirmation. The responsible staff and manager were not ready to take accountability or promptly follow up, and I was left paying for a service I never used. I hope Planet Fitness takes this situation seriously and ensures members feel fully supported and valued.

I’ve been going to PF almost every day for the past five weeks and the customer service and cleanliness is incredible. I’m slowly learning the names of the staff but can already say that Noah, Kambo, Tara and Michael have great personalities and are always happy to help with anything. And Amanda, the AGM, is a superstar. She’s a big part of my success so far because she’s always so happy to show me how to properly use a machine that’s new to me, and recommend additional workouts that aren’t machine-based. I’m so happy that I chose to start my gym journey with PF and at this location. 😊

Decent gym with friendly staff. The Dumbbell weights do not go high enough and there is not enough machines for the traffic, so you end up waiting a long time for certain machines to free up. The biggest issue here would be the lack of personal hygiene with some of the members. I feel like a gym should be enforcing a strong sense of personal hygiene so the clean members do not have to deal with how rank it gets in there 👎
