Not as advertised or what I expected, no follow-up appointments available. I read somewhere that this clinic was advertising as the only PF&C clinic north of Vancouver, one of a kind and felt this was my only option. I have now learned that is not the case, there are other options in PG. I first attempted to book at the sister clinic, Phoenix Physio with Nicole, as that was what was recommended to me. They told me I have to go through the PG PF&C clinic instead. I attempted to reach the clinic via email & phone with no response for weeks. When I did finally speak to the receptionist, attempting to gather more details to see which option would be best suited for me since on their website it advertises offering different types of classes and appts (spoiler, they actually don’t offer any classes and I was made to feel stupid for not knowing this already). The receptionist was so curt and kept cutting me off with any questions. She clearly didn’t have any time to spare to provide any insight to the process, just seemed to want to get to the point to see if I was worthy of booking for an initial appointment or not. She booked me in on a cancellation and said this was the only option they have. When asked about clinic hours, follow up appointment availability, etc. she just kept cutting me off and repeating that they have this cancellation only and that they’d see where it goes after that. I was so tempted to exclude myself from their services and end the phone call the entire time, just because of how she was treating me but I believed at the time they were the only option for my issue so I sucked it up and chose to grin and bear. I don’t think I’ve ever been treated that way by someone that’s offering a helpful service, I just couldn’t make sense of it, it was truly shocking behaviour. When I went in for the appointment, the office is extremely cramped, outdated, and unorganized looking. It didn’t feel clean or comfortable. The tiny seating area is surrounded by binders and folders, I don’t know if any of it is private client information but it didn’t feel like a secure professional setting. It’s so small that when you sit, it’s possible that you may have another client’s bum in your face as they chat with the receptionist. I brought my very short, impersonalized intake form which I had to print at home and bring with me as instructed… they don’t even print it for you or accept by email/online. I don’t know what one would do if they don’t have a printer but I was honestly afraid to ask so I had my hubby do it from work for me. Everyone was pleasant and kind in the office but the appointment felt very scripted, somewhat rushed, and impersonalized as well. When I asked the therapist about the PF exercises assigned triggering some hip discomfort and feeling like things weren't functioning as they should, I was told I should see her at her sister clinic separately for that but that they don’t discuss PF there. She also told the receptionist to have me booked for another follow up appointment for PF. The receptionist said they have nothing available but they’d put me on the cancellation list. I heard her do this to everyone who came through. It makes zero sense. Nothing available, ever?? Why even take on new clients then. It felt like they just wanted to get me in for that initial expensive appointment, and then gouge me again for another initial appointment at the sister clinic. Additionally, the physiotherapist said she’d fit me for a belt but she forgot I guess and ran out of time? Over a month later she emails me a message that was clearly meant for another client, saying she forgot to send it. I don’t know if she mixed up our file notes that day or what but that was concerning as well. It just really seems like they’re in over their heads and they don’t have a very good system going.
