I moved to Burnaby a while ago and hadn’t taken my cat to a vet since. My cat, Steve, developed self-inflicted wounds from scratching and itching which progressively worsened for the past 2 weeks. I called and they got us in for the same day. The front desk staff were helpful and kind. The waiting room was quiet and empty which really helped Steve. Dr. Hans throughly examined Steve and when it came to treatment, he explained options, and he also was clear with pricing. Not only that, I really appreciate and praise the clinic for also working around my budget. They discounted a bit for me and also gave me options that would still help my cat without breaking the bank. I’ve had bad experiences with vets pushing and upselling, but Dr. Hans was nothing but excellent. The vet technician and assistants were kind with my cat and everyone was gentle. I’m a bit worried because we weren’t able to determine the exact cause, mixing from allergies, food reaction, possible chemicals etc so I hope my furry friend recovers from this. It’s been a very stressful 2 weeks so I’m thankful to Metrotown Animal Hospital’s staff for making our visit smooth and stress free. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good, reliable care for your furry friends and something that is also affordable! I will definitely be making this Steve’s new veterinary clinic!

Just absolutely awful. Brought our cat in for an exam. Booked an appointment before but they couldn't find it in their system when we showed up. The room was dirty. Only the table wiped. Floor covered in hair from animals who were there before. Picked up my cat after he lied down on the floor for a bit and he literally had hair from a dog that was there right before us. Absolutely disgusting. Exam itself felt awful. I was trying to hold him down because the doctor was too distracted talking and couldn't focus on whatever task he started. First it was measuring the temperature. Then it was showing us how to use blood sugar monitor. For a minute there I started wondering if he's actually qualified. Poked cat's ear to get the blood, then started fumbling with the monitor, and by the time he tried to get any for the test, the blood stopped coming out and there wasn't enough to get a proper sample. The monitor just errored out. They then took him in the back to get some more blood. Could hear the cat cry even though he's been very quiet since getting sick. Great stuff. Really confidence inspiring. This is literally the worst experience we had we a vet. All prior ones at different clinics went fine. Leaving this one, just felt like we took the cat out for a $50 torture session when he's already extremely sick. Oh, and maybe don't give false quotes to people to get them in the door?

Baby Chanel's first sedated teeth cleaning of his life. He was mad at mommy after and groggy for the first 12 hours. He felt all better around 1AM and drank water, ate and woke up his grandparents to play fetch until 4AM. He was back to himself. He did really well recovering without any discomfort eating. He feels really happy now. Thank you to MAH team!
