My dog Icey was 16.5 years old. With a previous vet, she would be pacing around the office and even tried running away as soon as she saw the clinic. At Lincoln Animal Hospital, the staff were very warm and inviting so Icey was surprisingly not anxious in their clinic. The staff showed even more compassion as Icey started showing a lot of symptoms of dog dementia and arthritis. My family had numerous phone calls and appointments with them due to Icey’s ever-changing symptoms. They would give us a lot of advice on how to best support Icey, even if we just called them about a new symptom or if it was a brief vaccine appointment. We truly appreciate the empathy that Caroline, Jaida, and the front desk staff provided during this very challenging time. We were also appreciative that Dr. Mary Habib gave us realistic options when Icey’s health really turned for the worse. We sadly made the decision to put down Icey. It was a last-minute decision, but we were thankful that Caroline let us make the appointment while letting us know that we could cancel if we changed our minds. We didn’t end up cancelling, and the appointment was very painful, but the staff at Lincoln Animal Hospital again showed us a lot of compassion during this time. They gave us as much time as needed to grieve in the clinic. A few weeks later, they gave us Icey’s ashes, but they surprisingly gave us a very thoughtful card from all the staff that supported Icey, a small bottle of Icey’s fur, and imprints of her paws and nose. I think putting down a very beloved pet is very agonizing and I do not know how people can do this as part of their jobs while remaining warm-hearted, but somehow the staff at this clinic managed to do so with my family.

We live in North Burnaby and I have been taking our yorkie here for the last 5 years, though the doctors and staff members changed throughout the years, their dedication hasn't. This place just felt right for us. We are completely satisfied with the service and treatment we get at the clinic, they are always accommodating, kind, gentle with our pup and we had a doctor stay overtime after closing hours when we had a slight emergency (wasn't really that bad, but I was worried and everywhere else was closed). We come for annual check ups, allergy treatments, dental work, and we had her spayed here too. I understand that often people have concerns with vet visits and pet treatments being expensive, so I want to share my experience and why I have accepted this and thus it makes our communication and relationship with staff and doctors easier: 1- pet care IS indeed expensive (but so are human dentists, chiropractors, naturopaths, psychologists, electricians, handymen, etc), that's just how it is, and this is something you think about Before getting a pet. 2 - nobody knows your pet better than you, so when you come in and expect them to "figure it out" and get overwhelmed with all the tests that are offered and the price of it - that's not a part of their plan to rip you off. Our dogs tests always came back Perfect, yet she has bad allergies and we had teeth infection Twice. Again, based on One blood test your pet will be sent home while still showing signs of an illness. Thus they will offer you all kinds of tests if you come with "I don't know what's wrong". Pets can't talk, and if you don't know what's wrong - they must try everything to figure it out. And at this clinic I am pretty sure none of it is Pushed or Forced simply for the purpose of making more $. 3 - vets are not magicians, we are still solely responsible for our pet's health, paying attention to changes in their behavior, signs of discomfort and pain, their diet, skin conditions, etc. Owning a pet means you almost get yourself a medical degree by researching Everything you possibly can. This way when you come to the clinic you can work together to help your fur baby. They have the knowledge and equipment, but only You can tell them what's going on and what were the signs. And if you can't - again they will have to run multiple tests and scans to help out. Having said that, until this day we are happy with the service and attention we get at the clinic. Staff and doctors are patient, listen well to all my complaints, work with me on what I think is going on and tolerate my "I know it all" attitude with a smile, acknowledging that it comes from my deep care for my dog. I receive check-in calls, timely updates on our tests even when all is fine, and for our last dental surgery that happened just two weeks ago - dr. Mary Habib took her time before and after the surgery to explain to me again all the details which helped with my anxiety in regards to the procedure. My pup is always happy to see them, and does not have extreme fear of vet visits. We are looking forward to be cared for by Lincoln Animal Hospital for as long as we are here, and hope to never have to look for a new place.

I’ve been taking my dog to this vet since I moved to Coquitlam, and I’ve always received amazing service. The team is super attentive, kind, and genuinely lovely with both me and my dog. Now that I’m planning my first trip with my dog, I cannot express enough how much support and guidance I received from the entire staff. They went above and beyond to help us feel prepared and confident. Hands down, the best vet service I’ve ever experienced in Vancouver!

The folks at Lincoln Animal Hospital are always so lovely. We have four kitties so my partner and I are there often, and we have always had such exceptional service. The staff always make sure you know all of the options of care without pressuring you to go with the most expensive route. They genuinely care about making sure your pet gets the best care, and are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable people. Honestly the best vet clinic I have ever gone to in my 15+ years of owning cats.

Sadly, I cannot give 0 stars. Lincoln Animal Hospital has gone downhill completely since Dr. Ali left and a company took over, and my experience with the new management has been horrible. Communication became sloppy, professionalism is lacking, and everything feels like a business transaction instead of genuine veterinary care. There were multiple times I felt taken advantage of. During appointments, they would try to sell their own preventatives, suggesting anything else was “less effective.” When I asked to combine vaccine appointments to avoid repeated exam fees/ visits, I was met with excuses that didn’t make sense. Prices were also raised without any notice. They will not honour quotes, and you'll often come to a surprise updated quote on the day of, where your bill could cost anything between A and Z for the same procedure, because they'll add things to it. You often have to insist on certain things (like saying no or asking multiple times), which only adds to the frustration. The worst experience was recently with my senior dog’s liver health. His liver enzyme was mildly elevated (around 120) and I was told to do a 3-month treatment. At the end of that, after he needed an emergency visit at another clinic, his levels were found to be four times higher, which the clinic recommended a medication. Considering my dog was already being treated at Lincoln we asked the clinic to send them the results. Instead, they recommended me doing another round of tests, including a “geriatric panel” that costs $300 and a Ultrasound ($1,200). During the blood test, we found out that not only Lincoln had the files but completely missed the extra blood panel that was sent but turned out the geriatric panel would add nothing useful compared to a normal blood test. Then came the ultrasound I was told a sample could be taken if a mass was found. Only later we found that from the staff that the Dr. did not feel comfortable taking a sample but later discovered that the person they use for ultrasounds doesn't conduct sampling, which was never disclosed. Meaning I paid at least $1,500 for a procedure that that could only tell me if there was a mass and the size. To make it worse, the paperwork I had to sign already listed “suspected neoplasia” (cancer) with the only consideration being an elevated liver enzyme, and even required me to authorize CPR, which felt unnecessary and disturbing. To note, there was also no cost disclosed to require an authorization. During the procedure, I got a phone call during work hours that dumped information on me: my dog had a mass, it could be nothing or cancer, and I needed to decide by the next day (because of course, they need to make a "referral" and is always time sensitive) whether to spend thousands more on a $3k scan, $300 X-ray, and possibly a $5–10k invasive surgery. It was a completely cold, rushed, and panic-inducing conversation. When I went to pick up my dog, the vet who called didn’t even bother to speak to me — I got an update from a technician instead. In the end, I went for a second opinion where I got more information that ALT elevation alone does not mean cancer or anything really concerning, many dogs have higher values with no problem, and surgery wasn’t recommended (regardless of the type of mass) for a 12-year-old who was otherwise healthy. Sure enough, a month later my dog is still perfectly fine. This made it painfully clear that the stress, pressure, and huge costs at Lincoln were unnecessary and avoidable. I left Lincoln feeling robbed, pressured, and completely mistreated. Their oversight of records, lack of transparency, and total absence of empathy were unprofessional and unacceptable. What should have been compassionate care turned into one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with a vet. Never coming back and won't ever recommend.
