I’ve debated whether to share my experience, but I feel it’s important to document the care my cat received at this clinic. She was seen here several times, with her last visit occurring in late 2021 or January 2022. During a nail trim appointment, her nails were cut to the quick. When she got home, I noticed that all of her nails were bleeding. After this, her nails grew back unusually thick and difficult to trim. Additionally, they shaved her fur really close to her skin and it was red and painful looking. In her final months, my cat began showing clear signs of respiratory distress, including laboured breathing, panting, and open-mouth breathing, which is not normal for cats. She was also extremely thin at this time. She would often collapse while trying to reach the litter box and needed to stop to catch her breath before continuing. Because she had hyperthyroidism, I brought her in to determine whether her symptoms were related to her medication or another underlying issue. I was told by the veterinarian that nothing appeared to be wrong and that we should continue monitoring her response to medication. Later, after showing videos of her condition to others and consulting another veterinarian, I was informed that she was in critical condition and near death due to respiratory failure. On February 11, 2022, I had to arrange for in-home euthanasia. I was told she would likely have died within a week. Based on that assessment, her condition should have been identified much earlier, and her suffering could have been prevented. I am sharing this experience because I believe the severity of her condition was missed, and the guidance I received directly affected her quality of life in her final months.

My small dog was injured & brought to a clinic named Kerrisdale Veterinary Hospital, located at 5999 W. Blvd., Vancouver, for treatment during their business hours (about 3pm in the afternoon & weekday). My family was charged the pet treatment an emergency fee shown in the invoice. This was definitely a ripe off. I keep this in mind. Now, I have an opportunity to express my dissatisfaction through social media.Their billing was horrible too in which its invoice total was more than that of the pet specialist’s billing when my pet was brought to be treated by the pet specialist. It means the above Clinic billed much more for the pet treatment than we paid to the pet specialist.

My family has been taking our pets here for more than 40 years. Dr. Jan Craven is our primary vet and she is an outstanding veterinarian that is both compassionate and knowledgeable. She cares deeply about the animals she sees and always makes sure they are well looked after. We feel so very grateful to have Dr. Craven as our vet, we hope everyone can find themselves a vet like her! We have also had the pleasure of being seen by all the other vets working here, as the clinic tries to be as accommodating as possible for short notice appointments. All of the vets are excellent and have treated our pets with compassion and knowledge.

Very bad experiences. Dr. Aimee always top busy to remember. We took our 3 months old puppy for 3 vaccine shots end of June. She said each shots should be 3-4 weeks away, but she recommended us to take lepto shots in between 2nd and 3rd shot. She also said we won’t be charged with examination fee for lepto shots. When we went back for lepto shot 2 weeks after our 2nd shot, she just tried to sell all other services to us and not reading the chart. She was about to inject the 3rd shot with other vaccines that she said could be dangerous for puppies if injected too close to 2nd shot. I had to stop her and remind her what she said 2 weeks ago. She then checked our vaccine history then realized she was giving wrong shots. After taking the shot their frontdesk lady charged us with examination fee. Also when we took our puppy for 2nd shot, she was busy selling her services and asked her assistant to hold our dog. Her assistant wasn’t really paying attention so we had our hands holding our puppy to prevent her jumping of the examination table. Dr Aimee told us to let go and her assistant knows better how. 5 seconds after she said that our puppy jumped off from examination table cause her assistant wasn’t even trying to hold the puppy. My wife was on the other side of table and catches our puppy. All Dr Aimee said was oops good she didn’t fall. We had our 3rd injection on July 28 and came back for 2nd lepto shot. We waited for 15 mins. All in a sudden there’s a lady who just grabbed our puppy without saying a thing and went into the back. We had no clue who she is and what’s she up to. We asked the frontdesk lady and she said the other lady just took our dog for the shot and she will be back in 5 mins. We understand Dr Aimee is busy so she had someone assistant to do the job but it’s pretty rude just taking our dog without saying a thing. We came once every second week since end of June and I can say none of the visits makes a pet owner feel confident having them taking care of our pet. Will not recommended

This review is for Dr Chen. It has been just over a year since I lost my labradoodle Hadley. I was not able to write anything up until now as it was too emotional. Dr. Chen was amazing, guiding us through Hadley’s journey with salivary gland cancer. She diagnosed Hadley and operated, removed the cancer and Hadley was fine for 3 years. Unfortunately the cancer returned and Dr Chen again operated and guided us through the radiation process in Victoria and all the complications. Unfortunately Hadley died from complications, but not without every effort to save her. Shout out to Trupanion who funded close to at least $40,000 through Hadley’s life. Dr Chen always got on the floor with Hadley, and the dog loved her and trusted her. Dr Chen would always call with detailed updates and explain the process or her thinking. She was kind, empathetic and always researched the information needed. Most of all she supported me emotionally in difficult decisions I had to make and judgement I would receive from well meaning friends about putting the dog through radiation, even though I was being advised by specialists. Dr Chen is a talented, empathetic vet who was there for me every try step of the way. Kaitlyn was also extremely supportive. Hadley left a big hole in my heart but I know because of Dr Chen I did everything I possibly could while not putting my needs in front of the best decision for the dog. I would highly recommend her and I can’t think of a better way of thanking her than leaving this review ❤️. Lisa and Hadley

Been going here for 30 years despite moving around the lower mainland and far away from them many times; currently I live in Ladner and still fight the commute through the tunnel and across the oak st bridge to get there. Well worth the commute. Have had to put down 3 family members here and was lucky to have had such kind, caring, and patient veterinarians to perform said procedures. A competant, compassionate and honest vet is a hard thing to find. I applaud their professionalism and bedside manner. Highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pet as much as I love mine!
