I'm not the type of person to read or write reviews on businesses but this experience was very very bad. I've been to Shiatsu clinic many times and every experience has been great. No need to ever make appointment with a specific practitioner they have all been great at diagnosing what you need, even with limited English, even if they don't fully understand what you're asking and you can use hands to gesture where you want work done on your body. I went last week with my partner and we both had a great experience. All the muscle tension and knots in the middle of my back and lower back was loosened, and, that practitioner was intuitive enough to also massage and release major tension in my neck. Great massage. Great practitioner. Sine last week, I knew I had to come back this week (today) to the same practitioner to iron out the kinks left in my middle/lower back. Arriving at the shiatsu clinic today, I saw the practitioner (with glasses) that did an incredible job for me last week. But he was seated at the front desk and it was the practitioner that was standing outside the entrance that took control of leading me into a session that ruined the experience for me. Can assume the clinic rotates the staff and its his turn. I told this practitioner that I need work done on the middle of my back and my lower back gesturing with my hands where to work on. I pointed to ask if the practitioner with the glasses that did the hour session with me last week was available but this practitioner didn't seem to understand my request and continued the sales process. I went along with it because I never had bad experience with Shatsu clinic and trusted he would do a great job too. The hour massage did NOT do anything to alleviate the knot pain in the middle of my back or even bothered to massage my lower back. Every time he would massage the middle back area and apply pressure...when he needed to apply more pressure or stay massaging in that area to loosen the knot, he stops and massage another area. Its as if he doesn't want to work hard. Then, he would start massaging my legs, feet and arms when it was not necessary and not what I asked. The practitioner from last week with the glasses, he worked my neck, middle upper back and lower back all within an hour session. I even tipped him 20% because he did such a great job. A waste of $132 including 15% tip for bad service and I don't feel any better. The massage felt like a friendly massage I can do at home myself. I was looking forward to this massage as I am working on my feet for long hours for work this weekend and I was very looking forward to this massage to reduce upper and lower back pain. I told the practitioner I was not happy with the service, he didn't do what I asked, and he did not even try to fix the situation. Seeing the recent negative reviews, management level at the clinic does not try to remedy the situation with the customer anyways. That's bad business. By fixing a situation with an unhappy customer, the unhappy customer would become repeat customer $$. Save your money pay a little more and go to RMT.

Asked multiple times for the person to give a very very soft massage and every time when I asked this about 1 minute later person giving the massage ignored my request and went back to whatever they are more used to doing. I was unable to stand 15 minutes of this person doing the massage. I paid and left in the middle the time remaining and left unsatisfied.

Today I had a 30 minute session with one of the staff members there and she managed to release the tension from my neck, shoulders and head. I am so glad that she helped me ease the strain of my upper body. She was very helpful and friendly. She even gave me advice on preventing shoulder and neck strain. I would recommend anyone to try it out and ask them who has the strongest hands. The stronger their hands and arms work on your pressure points; the better it is for you.

I was a regular client at Japanese Shiatsu Clinic until I moved out of the city. I have never visited the clinic for a specific concern. Just for a relaxation massage. And Yusuke is a master in this craft! I highly recomend a session from him for anyone looking for getting away from all the stress of the day and feeling super light.
