I originally started coming here just for my nails, but one day decided to book a cut and style with Jenny—and I’m so glad I did. As someone who used to avoid haircuts at all costs (I’d either hate the result or feel overcharged), I can confidently say I’ve never felt that way leaving this salon. The prices are very reasonable, and Jenny absolutely nails it every time! Not to mention her and the team are such a treat to chat with. I always leave looking and feeling amazing. Thank you Jenny for making me love haircuts again!!!

Raha has been making my hair dreams come true for the last few years and I feel so lucky to have found her. Her passion and attention to detail is evident in the care and time she puts into your hair. You can tell she isn’t happy until you’re happy and your hair is looking its best. She is also one of the kindest people I know and has helped me find a look that really feels like “me”. So grateful for her and everyone at J Diem, their authenticity really adds a lot to the Burnaby Heights community.

I'm so happy with my hair! Raha at J.Diem Salon went over and beyond to make my hair shine. She has great attention to detail and is so lovely to work with! The salon itself is very welcoming and the staff are so positive and kind. I would highly recommend this salon for all your beauty needs. I also got my nails done with Hieu, which I'm so happy with. Outstanding quality and service. Thank you so much!!

I am still at a loss for words after my experience today. I have never dealt with anything quite like this. I had a cut with Raha earlier this week. It turned out to be the worst haircut I have ever had which is shocking because I just asked for a cut, one length no layers nothing crazy. Did not realize how un even and choppy it was until I had washed and styled it at home because she had flipped out the ends. I called the salon and was told Jenny could fix it for me at no charge. Great, no problem, these things happen I was just happy to come in today to get it fixed. I also will add that I had emailed photos for Jenny to see, no sorry, no follow up, nothing. When I came in for my fix today Jenny showed up late which already kind of annoyed me. You should respect your clients time, especially knowing that I am upset with my cut and having to come in a second time. I showed her photos of what I asked for vs what I got and explained how upset I was. I was very taken back that she insisted it was so crooked because I must have been moving my head around a lot. I am not a child. I did not move my head around while getting it cut. No hair wash nothing, she just sprayed my hair and began to chop away even more telling me that my hair would be longer not shorter because I said I really wanted to keep it as long as possible while still making it even. How could it be longer? Are you adding extensions? Anyways she went on to tell me the next time I see Raha (which why would I return to someone who completely messed my hair up a second time) that I would need to see her for my fix and that this was taking up her time and she is doing it for free. I’m sorry Jenny, as a (professional) business owner you should fix my hair after how bad my cut was, you do not need to discuss and bring up money or make me feel like you are doing me some huge favour. Why would you even want someone walking around with a cut like mine coming from your own business??? That is just embarrassing and looks bad for the salon. I wasn’t going to sit there and have her try and put the blame on me, one for getting her to fix it, how would I know that the rule is Raha needs to fit it if I wasn’t told by reception and two, why are you even bringing up any money issues with me? You are the owner, grow up and settle it with Raha. In the end I had to get up and leave. I suggest saving yourself the time, money, headache and avoiding this salon at all costs. Jenny you should learn from how you handled this situation today. You should never make your clients feel like they did something wrong especially after their hair gets completely botched and don’t expect anyone to know the rules if your receptionist is not explaining them. On a positive note, if you are looking for a professional salon with great customer service I highly suggest Air Nova in Brentwood mall, it is only five minutes away and you won’t be disappointed. Ann and Elfie will take their time to make you feel heard and appreciated. ✌🏻 - jenny , nice fake Google copy pasted apology lol. You were anything but apologetic when I came to the salon. This is all for show. No refund was even offered . . .

I don’t like that I have to post a negative review but I had a horrible hair experience here and it is my hope that no one else will have the same experience. My hair was done here a few weeks ago by Laura I went in to have my roots done and requested highlights including some money pieces to be done in a copper colour. I have included photos of my hair before coming here, after the first visit, during my second visit and after I went to have it fixed. Although the stylist was nice and spent time doing my hair I absolutely did not get what I requested and walked out of the salon with bright red hot roots, which did not match the rest of my hair and blonde highlights. I went in to have this fixed I was under the impression she would fix the roots and retone the highlights, she even showed me pictures of different tones of copper on her phone. Also my photos were used on Instagram and were taken with a ring light, the salon photos and photos in natural light (outside) and regular lighting absolutely do not look the same. This should have been simple fix. I asked the stylist a few times throughout the process what she was doing and I was told the colour she chose would balance out the red, admittedly I am not a hairstylist but I chose to trust her imagining she knew better than I. She started with my roots then proceeded to cover the rest of my hair in the same colour including the highlights that had been bleached the week prior in the very same colour, although I did express concern when she began covering the highlights. When she was done washing my hair I said out loud to her the hair all looks the same colour and I was assured that when dry you would be able to see these highlights that I spent hours in the salon the previous week getting. Once she had finished all I wanted to do was get the hell out of the salon because I had once again not received the hair that I requested and didn’t want to cause an absolute scene in the salon I now have hair that is all the same colour and I had not once requested having my whole head dyed. It seems she possibly did this as she couldn’t fix what she had done in the first place. Keeping in mind this cost several hundreds of dollars and she was generously tipped, I was polite and went on my way. I called the salon and asked to speak with the manager and when I finally got the opportunity to speak with her she truly wasn’t hearing a single thing I said and had excuse after excuse. I was told my hair is long, that’s it’s thick, that the hairstylist worked hard on my hair. Well this all may be true it does not change the fact that after 2 visits in this salon I did not get what I requested. She said I could come back in and have my highlights re toned at an additional fee. I asked how she planned on toning my hair since the highlights are not visible and she became extremely argumentative and her customer service skills were absolutely appalling.
