Just in the door with perfect hair. Clean and calm space, meticulous work, great customer collaboration. Not a fan of beauty appointments, but may be back sooner just to have my hair washed. Have paid a pretty penny with disappointing results elsewhere along the Cambie corridor. Thomas does the best hair in the neighbourhood!

This is the first time I visit this salon, I'm so confused about the price and the type of hair straitening they can provided!! Feel like Thomas is offering different price depends on different nationality and personality. He keep showing me 'before & after' pictures, and he told me how good is Keratin treatment, even though I have already chose Primore straightening. After applying the treatment and while I'm waiting, Thomas tried to explain to me that the price depends on hair quality, where I should send him photo of my hair beforehand, and saying I should even ask for quotation, that "I lack experience". I don't think that's the customer duty, he should be the one explaining pricing etc. He should not blaming the customer!! If I am so experienced why don't I open my own salon?? The result is quite good but the process needs to be improved. No locker is provided, my personal belonging keep moving everytime I shift to other seats, 3 times in total. To be honest I don't like others to touch my bag without my consent. It's better to have locker provided. My face and neck got wet when his assistant is washing my hair with strong water power and not gentle enough. When Thomas blow-dry my hair, he blow my ear for more than 3 seconds. I feel painful and dodge, he seem like not aware, didn't say sorry.

I had a Keratin treatment last week by Thomas. My hair is straighter, smoother, and easier to manage after the treatment. The salon is clean and comfortable, and Thomas is both professional and experienced. If any issues arise, he's always ready to help and resolve them with a positive attitude. I would recommend Hair by Thomas.

Late post! I had my hair Japanese straightened with Thomas a few months ago. I’m extremely happy with my results. He was very honest, professional and knowledgeable. With his recommendation I added on a keratin treatment which made my hair like silk! My hair was very course and curly. It’s now straight and honestly healthier than before! I wish I had not waited years to do this. Great service and I would highly recommend Hair by Thomas and his Team!

Update Sep.2023 - I did return to Thomas' hair salon to try the permanent Japanese hair straightening again about two months ago. He honored what he offered before, provided great service, the procedure took a bit longer than the first time making adjustments to be sure it would look great, and I left the saloon very happy with the result. Now, 2 months later, it's for sure different than how it was the first time. I plan to go back there for a root touch-up in a few months! **(older)Thomas did contact me and I replied to him just 2 days later (couldn't reply right away as I had an accident and was at the hospital). He offered me options to return to his salon and we agreed I will contact him back once I was ready for it. ***Update!** Unfortunately, now two months after a permanent Japanese hair straightening, I already see curls...very different from when I left the salon and even a couple of weeks later up to about 4,5 weeks after it still was very straight. It feels now like it was just a keratin treatment (that sometimes would last even 3 months, this lasted less). I didn't expect that for the amount of money paid, but I wouldn't know until I saw it now. That's really unfortunate, I was so happy after the treatment even 4 weeks after it seemed to be all good. When I used to do it elsewhere it was perfectly straight for a long time and I would redo it after six months only. Well, I guess I need to keep searching for the actual Japanese permanent hair strengthening, it's probably just different products that don't give the same effectiveness. *** His salon is clean and neat, he was very prompt to accept my very last minute booking for a long procedure, very professional e he did exactly what I wanted. It was just like expected that I couldn't trust or find anyone who could do my permanent hair straightening and with him, it was flawless. He respected what I wanted and just did it all by himself.

My naturally curly hair has plagued me for years, and I've tried straightening it, but it's going to make me feel dull. Until my friend recommended Thomas to me. He deeply understood my needs and transformed me into a better me. My hair has never been so soft and natural. I will definitely recommend him to other friends!
