Such a great experience! Booking over the phone as a first-time client already made me feel good about coming in. The team was friendly, professional, and very reassuring. I arrived nervous and left relaxed. I’d definitely recommend this clinic.

My dental assistant was so sweet & I very much appreciated her. I’ll give her credit for being the light in my experience at gateway dentistry.
I went in for 2 wisdom tooth extractions, 2 weeks apart. The first went well and wasn’t a surgery. The 2nd was a surgery that I was awake for.
I called ahead asking for the package insert to the freezing to be saved for me, so I could review it prior to consenting to the procedure. The package insert is the information the pharmaceutical company who produces the drug has to legally provide, to release themselves from any liability.
I’m pregnant, so I wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with it. Even though my dentist said he was.
I showed up early to read this insert, I was told I’d be able to have all the information I needed in the chair. I then repeated that I didn’t want their summary of the drug, I wanted the insert. I was only speaking to a receptionist when making these requests, who was communicating on my behalf with my dentist.
When I got to the chair, my dental assistant handed me an empty box. They had thrown the insert in the garbage. The box had no information about the drug other than the ingredients list & “please refer to package insert” for any other information.
I assume they thought I was too stupid to figure that out, as many medical professionals assume that their patients are incompetent.
I reviewed the box and listened to their disclaimers & reviews of the drug and then went forward with the procedure. I didn’t argue with the dentist for the insert because he was about to be working deep inside of my mouth and I didn’t want him to be angry with me.
Once I was frozen, they got me to sign a waiver stating that I understood that they might break some of my teeth 😖 which he did, 2 of my teeth were broken during the procedure. & my jaw may have also broke if I hadn’t been awake to advocate for myself.
I also have since talked about this with my caretaker for this pregnancy who informed me that no amount of dental work is truly recommended during pregnancy, other than a cleaning. Unless it is really necessary because of risk of infection affecting the baby and the lack of study on the drugs used. The alignment of my jaw was off, so this procedure did fix that.
But I was robbed of the ability to truly give informed consent. I was able to find the package insert for the epinephrine, lidocaine drug on the pharmaceutical company’s website which disclosed that there is no information on the effects on pregnant women. Other than if it is used cervically it passes through the placenta very fast.
I also found the timing of the waiver very inconvenient. Before getting frozen I had no idea that it is common for them to break other teeth. But of course if you’re already frozen you aren’t going to back out.
I won’t be going back here again. I like to work with people who respect their clients.

A fantastic practice! My bf had been experiencing jaw and wisdom tooth pain, they got him in same day and extracted same day. Just in time for our vacation! Thank you to the woman at the front desk (she said Kia like the car?) she was fantastic, and worked well with me to find the perfect appointment for him, she was patient, waited for my confirmation, and truly helped us finish this all in one day! Dr. Om was also fantastic, funny, and professional, he made the process smooth and quick. Thank you Gateway Dentistry & team!

The staff at this dental practice demonstrated exceptional kindness and professionalism, markedly contrasting with my prior experiences at medical appointments, where I have often felt treated with less regard. I remain genuinely impressed by the overall excellence of the facility. The dentist personally exhibited remarkable attentiveness, carefully considering even my minor suggestions. As an individual who typically experiences significant anxiety regarding dental or medical visits, I now anticipate returning without hesitation. I underwent a same-day tooth extraction, and the team rendered the procedure remarkably comfortable—an outcome I find unexpected yet accurate to describe.
