Dude was rude and told me my cylinder wasn’t from a smart lock when it’s clear in my included pictures that it’s surrounded by electronics. I removed the cylinder myself to avoid another locksmith messing up my lock as they’re not generally sold in Canada and most locksmiths are unfamiliar with them (this is my second one as another locksmith had messed up the first). When he asked if I needed a key cut as an upsell, I asked if he can do a deal (as it never hurts to ask and I had also made his job easier by doing the tedious part of removing the cylinder from the surrounding electronics and saving him time), he responded to me rudely when he could’ve just said no, sorry. It doesn’t hurt to be nice and I would’ve given them more business both then and in the future but now I’m more likely to just order a rekeying kit and do it myself.

Next time you need a key made, avoid Canadian tires automatic machines and just spend the extra 1.50$ on a professional service. Time and time again I have brought all sorts of keys from bent to oddly shapped and have had nothing but professional and reliable service here.
