I have done lots of hammock (sling) in the past and was extremely disappointed when ClubMynx closed. Finally after years of not doing it I decided to give fly studios a try. I have to say I've only done 2 classes of the beginner sling class and I don't think I will be coming back once my session is over. I've attended two other fitness studios for pole/aerials so I have an idea of what a typical class structure looks like. Warm up/stretching, conditioning, then doing moves on the apparatus. My issue with fly is that the warm up/conditioning portion takes up half of the 60 minute class. With the amount that I am spending on the class I'd like to spend more than 30 mins in the sling. It feels like a rip off at that point. The sling class is at the same time as a child's hoop class so everyone warms up together. As someone who is a grown adult I am not interested in paying $25+ a class to do warm up games with children, I'd rather spend that time learning moves on the apparatus. I would be more than happy to pay that amount if I'm spending most of the class in the apparatus but that is not the case here. I really wish the class structure was different because that way I would feel better about spending that much on classes, but unfortunately unless that changes I don't feel like it's worth it. I also feel that the sling height is way too high for people who are just beginning. People who are not seasoned aerialists have a lot of trouble doing anything in the sling because they can't even get into it. I feel bad as someone who can do all of the things because I don't want them to see me and feel discouraged. I could tell in a class of people who have experience doing aerials, there were a few people who were a bit discouraged and had a tough time. This is also something that would make me not want to come back if I was just beginning. The one good thing is the instructors are amazing.

My daughter came here for classes. Teachers and facility are great. However, a couple ofthings disappointed me and my daughter. 1) The class is an hour long. However your child will only receive 30 minutes of time on the silks. They start the class with 30 minutes of stretching which is excessive. I'm a personal trainer and would never recommend that much stretching for an adult client, let alone a child. Other studios I've attended allow the students to stretch on the silks, which is a great way to make it fun. And they keep the warm ups to five minutes. 2) They allow people who miss classes to do make up classes, which seems like a nice idea. However, I kept noticing my daughters class was overbooked. Last session there was only two classes where my daughter had her own Silk. The Times where she had to share one, her time on the silks was reduced to 15 minutes for what was supposed to be an hour class. This isn't acceptable to do when we are paying a very expensive fee for what is supposed to be an hour of silks. Fix these issues and we would consider coming back.

A great addition to Saskatoon. They have a great group of instructors, they are knowledgeable and very kind (and motivating). The studio is very clean and welcoming. I'd recommend trying out a class if you haven't yet.
