So what do you guys plan to do when the floor falls in on the Salvation Army down below, you know the fire department already said that it's a risk? . The floor bounces like a trampoline when you're there. It is a hazard at best, and criminal negligence in the waiting

I was a loyal member of EZ Fit Burnaby for many years, and I’m honestly shocked and disappointed at how poorly things have been handled. I hesitated to write this review after reading how unprofessionally the owner responds to critical feedback, but after my recent experience, I feel it's important to speak up. Last August, I called to freeze my membership and was told over the phone that it would be paused for six months. No one mentioned any formal process or follow-up required. Fast forward to now-I try to reactivate my account, and I’m told there’s a balance of $357.79 sent to collections and in order for me to return I would have to pay the balance along with an activation fee. This is outrageous. How is a long-time member supposed to anticipate that the information provided by staff would be inaccurate or inconsistent? What’s even more frustrating is the owner’s track record of rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional replies to reviews on Google. It’s honestly embarrassing for a business. Instead of addressing concerns respectfully or taking accountability, the replies are defensive and dismissive. It speaks volumes about the lack of customer care. EZ Fit's customer service and business ethics are seriously lacking. Based on my experience and judging from the many others with similar complaints, I cannot in good conscience recommend this gym to anyone. Be cautious, and get everything in writing, because phone communication clearly means nothing.

Nice small gym that is available 24/7. Its rarely super busy so you can usually get a good workout without having to wait too long for any one machine. A good variety of machines, but many are showing their age with broken height adjustments or damaged pads. Absolutely not a deal breaker and easily fixed. Overall I recommend this gym if you live nearby and want to start working out or maintaining your physical activity.

I have been going to this gym for 2 years, one year on prepaid, one year on monthly payments. I have become friends with the staff, and I recognize many of the faces and names of other patrons. The community is good, and there’s always someone willing to spot you, or help you if you ask. The owner is very transparent and understanding if you speak to him in person or on the phone, and makes it his priority to make sure you get the assistance you need. The other poor reviews stem from a lack of understanding of the signed agreement. As long as you read the agreement before you sign it, and make sure you understand the (fair) fees, there should be no anger or confusion around them. I enjoyed my time here, and have greatly appreciated the 24/7 availability of facility.

Avoid This Gym – Unethical Policies and Poor Customer Service I strongly advise against joining this gym due to its unethical business practices and lack of transparency regarding membership policies. My experience as a member for one full year, during which I paid in full, was satisfactory until I decided to transition to a month-to-month membership for personal reasons. Upon informing the front desk staff, I was assured that I could simply pay on a monthly basis whenever I attended, similar to standard practices at other gyms in the area. However, I later discovered that this gym does not have a clear cancellation policy, and once a membership is initiated, individuals are seemingly bound indefinitely. Even if a member ceases to attend, they are still required to make payments. The policy mandates that members must provide a 30-day notice prior to leaving, and failure to do so may result in late fees. Furthermore, if outstanding fees remain unpaid, the gym escalates the matter to a collections agency, thereby negatively impacting an individual’s credit score. This approach is not only unreasonable but also highly detrimental to customers. Additionally, the gym's management demonstrates a lack of professionalism and customer consideration. After a full year of inactivity, I unexpectedly received an email stating that I owed $480 and was required to make the payment immediately or face involvement with a collections agency. When I inquired why no prior communication was made regarding this matter, the owner claimed that I had unsubscribed from their emails and that, due to the high volume of members, they do not make individual phone calls. This response further highlights the gym’s lack of accountability and disregard for customer relations. Regrettably, my experience is not an isolated incident, as others have reported similar grievances. My intention was to return as a member, but this unethical treatment has resulted in the loss of two long-term customers. Fortunately, there are numerous alternative gyms in the area that offer better policies and customer service. Prospective members should exercise caution before signing any agreements with this establishment.
