I didn't exactly have the best experience with this salon, which breaks my heart because I know alot of people who come here. I went in for the complimentary hair consultation. Expressed what I wanted with pictures. We had a very in depth conversation about the results and what to expect. I felt very comfortable with the stylist and her abilities! I was excited. Come my hair appointment, my hair turned out nothing like what we had discussed. The color I received was WAY darker than we had discussed. I was very open about the state of my hair and what would need to be done. The hair extensions (which I purchased through them and paid an additional 600$) didn't even match the hair color I had in my hair. The hair cut was not the greatest. I didn't even realize how my hair looked until my friend sent me a side profile picture of me and some friends laughing at a joke. The layers are terrible. I can't wear it straight at all because the layers are choppy. What we talked about during the hair consultation was never achieved. The stylist had to use more products in my hair to try and get the color I wanted but it never turned out. The cherry on top was the 600$ charge that I did pay because I didn't want to sit there and argue while everyone else was already gone and they were closing shop. Regardless, I'm really confused as to how this happened.. I know people who have come here to get great haircuts and colors, but I didn't. I would like to mention, as it is worth noting, that the stylist did try and correct the color on their own time. But it was still slightly off.

I've gotten my hair done off and on at East Vanity over the years, but the last year it's definitely been ON! I see Naomi for my cuts and she's a dream - I have really think, somewhat curly (like a 2c to a 3 depending where on my head) and she never disappoints. We recently did a big chop to a bit of a bixie and I'm loving it. I've also seen Kym for fun colour and am always so stoked on what she comes up with for me. She brought me from a deep burgundy to hot orange with bright pink in the summer without having to lose a bunch of length and is great to chat with.

I was honestly a little nervous coming in for the first time. I’m pretty simple when it comes to my hair, and compared to the super cool styles this salon puts out, I definitely felt like I was a basic B. But Kym was amazing, she made me feel so comfortable right away. She listened to what I wanted, gave her own suggestions, and explained what she was doing along the way. I ended up with haircut that actually feels like me...probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had. I left feeling so happy with the whole experience, and I’ll definitely be back.
