Excellent work done by hygienist. Overall good experience. That being said, this office needs to upgrade and become more modern. They need to do direct billing to insurance company in all aspects because it takes along time to recoup your money by sending in forms As well, maybe a tap function on machine would be a bonus too. Staff is fine at front desk but not necessarily the most enthusiastic or friendly when dealing with you. As was send though, the dental work was good.

I have twice had deep gum cleaning, with follow up of semi-annual cleaning. I have also had grafting from roof of mouth to gums. Every time I have come in for any form of treatment, I have been treated well and with great empathy, as I am not comfortable with dental procedures. I would highly recommend.

Dr.Johnston and her staff mean well, but are missing a certain tact/sensitivity of dealing with the diversity of people who may come through the office. These dental procedures can be very stressful for clients, and though I understand the concept of burnout from those in medical professions, if you're not in a place to be able to provide a sense of warmth and safety to people who are trusting you while in a very vulnerable position, perhaps you should take a step back and reassess what your issue is. It's part of the job to understand the needs of your clients, and though I trusted the well-meaning nature of this doctor, I did not feel that it was important to her or staff to assist in reducing my stress levels. They seemed irritated with me while I was so nervous and scared I was in tears. There was an attitude of intolerance and the only thing they seemed concerned about was me signing the form. I've been to a lot of specialists in the last few years and I know there is a way to reach people that is more effective and could have ultimately improved my experience of the procedure. This was one of the worst dental experiences that I've had in my adult life, and not because of it being painful (it wasn't very painful) but because their mannerisms in dealing with my anxiety communicated to me that I was a nuisance. The staff member assisting the procedure did make a few kind gestures, which I appreciated, but I would have left feeling less mentally damaged if there was more patience and understanding overall.

This office is super clean and has great communication between the patient and the office staff leading up to the appointment. Everyone did an excellent job and took the time to explain my treatment plan. I gave them 4 stars for two reasons, both have to do with their lack of technology in the office. 1: They don't submit your insurance claims to your insurance company. I haven't had to submit a claim at any provider for over 5 years because this is all automated at most offices (massage, dentistry, etc.). I was sent home with various forms to try and figure out. This seems like something that should be easy for a dental office with such a new/clean feel. 2: Documentation of exams is still done on paper, which just seems archaic (and not up to infection prevention standards) in this day and age. Otherwise I'm really happy with my care, but I think they could do a better job in these areas.

I have a lot of anxiety about dentists and teeth cleaning and this was a WONDERFUL experience. The hygienist was awesome- she checked my comfort and always told me what she was going to do and what to expect. I highly recommend this office.
