If 5 years later your still buying into this covid BS then this is the dentist for you. However if you realize that this is in fact just a virus like all other virus, then proceed with caution. I understand stuff happens, and waits happen if someone requires more time than anticipated but to use COVID as the excuse you don't have stuff for kids while they wait over half an hour is ridiculous. It may be your office policy but other dentists have gone back to having things in their waitrooms. Im absolutely OVER companies using this an excuse.

Dr. Chen and his team have provided a great service to my teeth. The whole experience has always been very friendly, efficient, professional, and comfortable. Convenient location located just before “that darned bridge”. Totally worth the 90 min trek I make to see them. Thanks for improving my smile :-) 謝謝你們 🙏

On August 20, 2024 late in the afternoon, I had a bizarre and unsettling encounter on the front steps of Downstream Dental In Courtenay when picking up a replacement for a defective appliance I had been fitted for by Dr Chen. As I was leaving a staff member approached me and asked if I was driving. An unusual question, but yes I told her I was driving. Then she asked me: Have you been drinking? NO I responded, but why would you ask? I was puzzled. I work in a doctor’s office and I have the right to ask that question was her answer. Back I went into Downstream Dental. I asked Dr Chen: What is this about? He said: I thought I had smelled alcohol from you. I told him I had not had alcohol on that day. Was it my demeanor? Had I done anything for him to question my sobriety? He said no, but they had had some related issues. Who cares? What does this have to do with me? If in fact, Dr Chen had detected the scent of alcohol in that room, on that afternoon, I can say in all honesty it was not from me. My integrity was challenged. Downstream Dental crossed the line and that is unacceptable. In hope of a better understanding of this encounter, my husband reached out to Dr Teri Norfolk by both email and Canada Post. There has been no response. Even now when I think about this incident, I become anxious and this is wrong. We have found a new dentist. Bernie

AMAZING! Friendly, Understanding and very good at their jobs! I had poor dental work done by another dentist and was in pain for over 2 years, which made me very uncomfortable with going to the dentist . When I finally went to see Teri they were very understanding and kind and found my problem right away! Teri and her staff were able to comfortably re do my previous dental work, and I now am completely pain free.
