Martin, the service manager at DJ Auto Service, has strong ethics regarding his and his shop's work. Martin had me drop my 2000 Nissan Quest off for him to evaluate before he agreed to work on it, (very low km's for a 2000). In his professional estimation it had to be worth the large amount of work I needed to have done for him to agree to work on it. After he agreed to work on it, he sourced the necessary parts and gave me a quote. I agreed and was given a date to drop of the van. He is so meticulous in his job, that days later after I had picked up the van, I called to arrange another job and asked him what brand parts the timing belt kit they had installed was. He told me that he found the kit too expensive, so he sourced and ordered the parts individually and told me the make of each part, all Japanese! On top of that, his labor rates and parts markup were exceptionally good. He and his shop are well worth any time and effort required to contact and arrange service.

I took my vehicle to DJ Auto shop today to check a noise when reversing. The technician carefully inspected all four brakes and found no real issues -- the noise was simply due to a slight mismatch between the brake pads and rotors. I was reassured that the car was perfectly safe to drive and advised not to worry unless I chose to replace both the pads and rotors together (the pads had been replaced less than six months ago elsewhere). They spent about 15-20 minutes checking my vehicle and didn't charge me anything. I was very impressed by their honesty, professionalism, and kind, friendly manner. I will certainly go back to them for my car service needs without any hesitation in the future.

I moved to Vancouver in 2007 and have been coming here ever since with all kinds of cars—Dodge, Nissan, Hyundai, Mazda and Lexus. They’re honest, only fix what’s really needed, and always explain things clearly. The owner and his two sons are great guys and their work gives me real peace of mind on the road. Only catch? They’re getting so busy you need to book ahead—but that just proves how good they are. Highly recommend!
