We had been seeing Dr Chappell for a few years just for basic checkups and vaccines which had been fine. We recently started seeing Dr Lee the past few visits and it’s gone nothing but downhill. Our most recent ‘appointment’ with Dr. Lee was the final straw. I brought our almost 15 year old Chihuahua (with a heart murmur) in because she has a badly infected mouth due to her teeth. When I made the appointment they noted that I was coming in to see about getting our dog antibiotics to clear the infection and keep her comfortable. As soon as Dr Lee walked into the room, without even looking at our dogs mouth he immediately said no to the antibiotics and started pushing for a full dental. I completely refused a full dental on our very small fragile senior dog to which he said then there’s nothing that could be done. His reasoning was that she could become antibiotic resistant….at 15 years old how many more years could she possibly have left to become antibiotic resistant?? He then proceeded to pull out his stethoscope and check her (she had been checked not long prior to that visit already) and sent us on our way to pay for our $100 and something visit at the front desk. I had to go straight to another local vet (that we didn’t know) and pay another $100 for a visit but atleast now my dog is not suffering with pain and infection for whatever time she has left with us. I have completely lost trust in this clinic because of Dr Lee.

I have 3 rescue dogs from Mexico. Over the years, I have been to Currents Vet on multiple occasions for various issues. I found Dr. Chappell and Dr. Lee to be down-to-earth, caring vets with solid/helpful advice. I highly recommend them! Dr. Nguyen- not so much! She interrupts, talks over you, doesn't listen to what you are saying and argues. When I mentioned this to her, she even argued about arguing. I see from other reviews that I am not the only one who has had this experience with Dr. Nguyen. I will not see her again. I have had mixed experiences with the front staff. Some staff are friendlier than others. Rebecca (a Vet Tech) is very knowledgeable and great to deal with! I will say Currents Vet charges a high dispensing fee for meds and they also charge a $47.85 fee to collect blood/urine that other vets don't charge. The end result is a higher fee for blood tests than other vet clinics. Overall, Currents is a compassionate veterinary centre but expensive. Go see Dr. Chappell or Dr. Lee. Update- I have added a star to my review because of how wonderful Dr. Chappell was during a very difficult time with our first Mexican rescue- which resulted in us having to euthanize her.

I cannot express enough how much my fur baby and I love this clinic! Dr. Nguyen has been taking care of my fur baby since he was just a kitten, and now at 7 years old, I am still in awe of her compassionate care and deep knowledge. Her affection for animals is heartwarming, and she’s always spot on with her diagnoses and treatment plans. The staff here is incredible, too! From the moment we walk in, we're greeted by the brightest smiles that immediately make us feel at ease. Jenna has been amazing, always going above and beyond for us. Even when I only spoke to her on the phone, she made sure I felt heard and valued, no matter how busy she was—her phone etiquette is top-notch! Stacy, the manager, is absolutely wonderful – she leads with such warmth and professionalism, and it’s clear that she has created a fantastic team. You can tell she genuinely cares about both the animals and the people who come through the door. I’ve never considered going anywhere else, and I never will. I trust this team with everything related to my fur baby, and I know they’ll always treat him with the utmost care and love. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clinic that treats both you and your pet like family! I was tempted to write this all in caps! 😉

The care for Apollo was wonderful. I went to three places very close to Currents Veterinary but they couldn't see the dog without an appointment. My dog needed to be seen by a vet, and that was the only place that would take him. Now Apollo is doing great after his treatment.

Take your pet here. You may think all vet clinics are the same when you just need your dog's nails clipped or yearly shots. But when our dog became very sick and we had to make the painful decision to end her pain, this is when we realized that we had an exceptional veterinarian. Within 10 minutes of our visit, Dr. Albert Lee had diagnosed our bulldog Stella - thanks to a portable ultrasound and his experience. I know most diagnoses are not as quick as this, but it was for us. Dr. Lee was very clear about how sick she was and what the options were, while being kind and respectful, and balancing our need for privacy with our need for support. The procedure itself went without issue. Take your pet to Dr. Albert Lee for the routine stuff. One day you might need him for more serious problems, and he will know you and your pet. He is a gifted, experienced veterinarian and a kind human being. Trust me, this will make all the difference. Thank you Dr. Lee, and everyone at the Currents Clinic.
