I had a very disappointing experience with Columbia Square Animal Hospital. I called because my cat has been suffering for two weeks now. I explained the situation clearly to the receptionist. The first thing she asked was whether I had a file with them. When I said no, she immediately put me on hold. When she came back, all she said was, “Can I call you back later?” No explanation, no reassurance, and no indication of whether they could even see my cat. I asked how long it would take to get an answer and specifically asked if she could call me back within one hour, even if the answer was simply that they could not take us. She said yes. I immediately just had a feeling that I was being dismissed. It has now been over an hour with no call back. They gave me false hope and wasted valuable time — time I could have spent calling other clinics to get my sick cat the help he needs. If they couldn’t see my cat, they should have been honest and said so upfront instead of dismissing me without an answer. After reading other reviews, I see a consistent pattern that this clinic does not help people who do not already have a file with them. If that is their policy, it should be clearly stated instead of leaving pet owners waiting while their animals continue to suffer. I was considering this clinic because of their reputation for being budget-friendly, but this experience made it clear that you get what you pay for. I called Metrotown Animal Hospital and they got me in for the same day, friendly and attentive receptionist, they asked important questions about my cat’s condition, and got me in within a couple of hours. I would not recommend wasting time here if your pet needs timely care. Please read the other reviews before deciding.

I’ve been bringing both my cats here for years, and I really appreciate how friendly and caring everyone is. Dr. Brar took such good care of my cat today and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. They figured out what was going on right away and made sure my cat was getting the right treatment. I always feel confident bringing my pets here.

Thank you to the amazing staff and to Dr. Brar! It’s always a bit nerve-racking bringing an animal to a new vet, but Columbia Square Animal Hospital has been nothing short of incredible for both my cat Vienna and myself. They treat her with so much care, patience, and genuine compassion. Every staff member I’ve interacted with has been kind, welcoming, and reassuring, and the vets are extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I always feel heard, respected, and supported, and I can tell they truly love what they do. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Vienna is in such good hands. I’m really grateful for the level of care they provide. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy veterinary team.

We are thankful to Dr. Kam! Our senior dog has needed quite a bit of care, ranging from skin conditions to poor bladder control, and he’s been guiding us through it all. Very detail oriented which provides pet parents peace of mind knowing they’re in the best hands. Receptionists have been accommodating to fit us in for any last minute appointment, usually within a 24hr window, and we’re grateful. A little bit of a trek to the clinic from where we live but we’d go the distance, a true testament to the quality of services provided by CSAH!
