Bad at keeping to schedule. Empty promises on deadlines. They lied to me on several occasions when they were going to start. I ended up canceling the contract. After giving our deposit we were told work would begin 3 weeks from that time. After those 3 weeks we were told it would be another 6-8 weeks. After that 6-8 weeks it turned into we will be there right away. Right away turned into another 3 weeks. I finally gave them an ultimatum that I would cancel the contract if they could not provided a definitive timeline. The owner assured me the service coordinator would contact me that day to let me know what was going on. 2 days later and still no call. So I canceled the contract. Clear choice was referred to me by my insurance company as a preferred contractor, and if any issues arose after the work was done cooperators would deal with it. After canceling the contract I hired a reputable company that has lifetime warranty on material and labour. So using a preferred insurance contractor seems irrelevant.

Jay and the Clear Choice Team have been fantastic to deal with. Our house was damaged in the hail storm last summer and Clear Choice was the preferred vendor through our insurance. I have always felt like we were taken care of since work began on our house, and never rushed when we had a question. Jay has always taken the time to clarify any questions we have had. We have had the opposite experience with other companies so they were very refreshing to deal with. The subcontractors were great, and did a really nice job. Any minor fixes have been, and are being dealt with in a timely manner. Today, we did the final walkdown of the house after the work was completed. Jay came from Red Deer, and was accompanied by the Owner, Cory. Both Jay and Cory did a full inspection of the house, and our satisfaction was paramount to them. It was nice to chat with representatives that have actually been on the tools, and know what they are talking about. Clear Choice Roofing will be our go-to with any work of this nature moving forward.

I can see we weren't the only ones that have had to deal with this extremely unprofessional company. The 'professionals' they hired not only had to come back multiple times to repair shotty work and clean up messes, but they had the audacity to send a money collector to collect payment for an incomplete job. A big bully type that made passive-aggressive comments about paying soon. Like, okay, buddy, I bet you get all the poor and elderly to pay up on time so you get your cut. Special place for special people like you are the end of it all. After explaining all the repairs and unfinished work over and over, these contractors would show up and ask me what needed to be done. Never did they even take the time to write down what our complaints were so the workers knew what to do. I was expected to sacrifice my time to ensure the job was done. The roofing contractor sent a guy to clean up nails and debris scattered all over my lawn and driveway. He looked like he was on some serious substances, cursing and stumbling over his own feet, and he ended up damaging further a down spout and leaving a broken magnetic collector in the middle of my lawn in front. When I mentioned the damage, I was told I would have to pay for the replacement. These 'roofers' blew our breaker a few times. Makes me wonder what they would have done if I wasn't home to supervise this circus act. I guess they should have charged me extra for the entertainment. Its a clear choice that they only care about money rather than reputation. Oh, and they definitely didn't fix everything. We threw in the towel and got an actual expert to do the repairs.

Update 2: After several weeks I was eventually contacted and a crew came by later that afternoon. They were here for a very short time, maybe a half hour or so, and it appears that they reattached the loose piece (I don't think they replaced it). Too bad it took so long for them to even look into it, especially if it was something so easy to repair... I was promised an inspection of the whole job, but doubt that will ever happen... Update 1: Owner replied to my review but a week later I still have NOT been contacted by anyone and the issue remains. Original review: Had lots of hail damage during the 2021-07 storm. Hired Clear Choice as they were one of my insurance company's preferred vendors. Roof was done quickly, but the siding work wasn't done until early 2022 because of "supply chain issues." I was initially happy with the work based on what I could see, and with the follow ups that were done to address minor issues. However, I would have liked to have kept the leftover siding, as I'm sure I must have paid for it, but it was removed after the installation was complete. In 2023-02 a strip of siding at the very top, just below the eaves, came partially loose. I contacted the company and they came by the next day to reattach it. So far so good, although it got me thinking that in the 26 years that I had been in the house, no piece of the original siding had EVER come loose... Then just a few months later in 2023-06 the next strip over from the one that was fixed in Feb came loose as well. I once again contacted Clear Choice and received a reply indicating that the issue would be taken care of right away. Unfortunately it's now over a month later and no one has called, returned my follow up emails, or come by to evaluate the problem. The loose piece is getting blown around in the wind, which I’m sure is damaging it and the area around it even more… The insurance company finally got a hold of someone this week, who said that they would be in touch right away, but still nothing. I'm not sure whether there's been a change in management but, whatever their reputation used to be, it's a very different story now and I would not recommend using this company at the moment.

Clear choice was recommended by my insurance provider as a preferred vendor after a hail storm in July 2022. They had trouble finding materials, when the work did start, messes were left every time, unprofessional workers that were smoking marijuana on the job in my yard, reported to the project manager but was told “they have put in a long day”. They have been called out to clean up & fix what wasn’t done right multiple times. Work was finally completed in April 2023 and now everything is lifting or falling down. What a joke. Would NOT RECOMMEND.
