I have used Dr Poddars services many times over the past 10+ years. I appreciate his warm personality when discussing and dealing with concerns I have for all my pets needs. He has literally saved my Maine coon Rhaegal’s life twice. For that I will always be grateful. When having to put my pets to rest he has also been very kind and caring and has never made me feel like I was being rushed or was being a bother when I was crying.

At this point, I have learned to trust my gut. Our experience here was sub par. The staff seemed focused on maintaining anonymity about potential prices and 'hidden costs.' When we were asking questions about our pet bird, this seemed to bother the veterinarian. Numerous off handed remarks quickly made us feel like we were an annoyance, which raised several red flags. We were redirected to Calgary after the staff felt we asked too many questions. I'm quite certain that this clinic does not want to do well for pets or people, as solid businesses prioritize customer service. We were however grateful of the short notice accommodation, though this was quickly fouled by the poor customer service and sensation of uneasiness instilled in us that our pet would not be in safe hands.

0 stars! I really didn’t think this vet could get any worse. Brought my cat in for what appeared as being unable to poop. Vet convinced us he needed to spend the night (seemed weird). Assistant goes through all the costs and makes notes to call me if anything needs to be added. Next day still trying to convince us he needs to stay longer and over the weekend charge will be $$$. The bill was outrages for 1 night stay with literally only iv fluids and lactulose. We ask to see the follow up X-ray and the vet is saying the hairball hasn’t moved but clearly from the photos it has. We point out the movement and Vet changes his story and agrees it has. Go home after paying the massive bill and glad I listened to my gut as my cat ran to his litter box and pooped immediately! Checked the receipt and notice an extra charge they were suppose to clear with me first, go in and told it’ll go as a credit as they can’t do a refund. Fast forward go to use the credit and surprise it’s not on file and then argue saying we owed $14. How? Bill was fully paid. Refused to provide the credit, even with receipt brought in that showed the amount of credit. Misleading diagnosis, massive over treatment, rude comments from staff, and then to top it off the vet trying to explain why they weren’t staying true to the credit started making up stories of us bringing the “puppy” (it’s a cat) in for the follow up and then decided to leave because he was fine which never happened. The follow up was cancelled as he pooped and was great as soon as he was back home. Once again that cancellation phone call was not noted or in the secret file. As his story changes again that there’s another spot for notes, checks and still refuses to provide the credit. If you bring your pet here be ready for a large bill as they will do their very best to convince you the pet is dying and needs everything done and if they say it’s “on file” it is not. And don’t ask questions because you’ll be told “we have families to get home to”. The receptionist even asked if maybe the credit was at a different clinic like somehow I didn’t know where I brought my cat. This is a terrifying situation as I truly believe this place would do anything to get an extra buck rather than care for your pets and provide truthful comments and the improper charting could lead to serious complications. We changed clinics and the communication and educated answers are beyond what this vet could do just for a simple constipation conversation.

Dr.Poddar explained everything thoroughly. He was amazing and treated my cat so gently. And the assistant skyler was amazing!! Big shout out to them

Ruby and I had an amazing experience at City Vet The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they truly care about the animals. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel comfortable and explained everything clearly. The level of compassion and professionalism is outstanding.
