I’m really disappointed with how my situation was handled here. I had a 9:00 AM appointment and messaged the salon immediately upon discovering I had a flat tire — literally the moment I walked outside. I couldn’t safely drive, and I notified them right away. Despite this, I was still charged a late-cancellation/no-show fee. What makes this even more frustrating is that the salon has publicly posted (including in their Instagram Stories) that if you don’t feel safe driving due to weather or road conditions, cancellation fees are waived because “your safety is always a priority.” Yet when I physically could not drive because of a sudden flat tire — something completely out of my control — that same consideration was not extended to me. I have always been respectful, communicated promptly, and tried to be understanding, but I was met with zero flexibility and was asked to pay an additional $122 on top of already expensive services. I was left in absolute tears with the back and forth phone calls and was extremely embarrassed. Especially when the owner Martina read my messages and still has not bothered to respond to me several weeks later. The inconsistent application of their own policy and the lack of compassion was really disappointing. I would have been happy to perhaps pre pay for my next booking or pay a deposit, however I think $122 is extremely steep considering my cancellation was only due to a flat tire. I hope they treat future clients more fairly, especially in situations where safety is genuinely at risk.

This is the fourth time I have sent a client to Martina and her team and they continue to surpass expectations. The cut is always fantastic, the head massage is like something from a spa retreat, the team is professional and highly trained and products are of the highest quality. I always feel heard explaining what I would like, easing typical haircut anxieties. I recommend the moi moi hair treatment if you are looking for something special to add to an already luxurious, pampered experience. I really can’t say enough good things about the entire experience or Martina; Charisma is simply the best hair salon and team in Barrie.

I absolutely love Charisma and their entire team! Martina is an absolute wizard. I have never had anyone cut and style my hair the way she does. She is so lovely to chat with and very knowledgeable on the products she carries, which has helped keep my hair looking great as I am now using the right products. And don't even get me started on the space! It is an absolute dream of a location. The attention to detail is incredible. I just want to hang out there, it is that beautiful. Highly recommend if you are looking for the best hair care services in Barrie!

I finally had the opportunity to check out the NEW Charisma Hair Studio! WOW WOW WOW! Martina has created a beautiful & welcoming space filled with so much talent in the team! After 15+ year of having my hair done by Martina, she still surprises me the talent & passion! I Wouldn’t trust anyone else.
