From start to finish the communication was good and answers to questions were quick. The work was well done and the vehicle was delivered ahead of time and a lot cleaner than it was brought in, inside and out. When we brought the car in, we misplaced our phone and the team when above and beyond trying to help us find it, which they did not have to do. Thanks for the great experience. I would highly recommend Carstar Airdrie for your repairs.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place has zero communication, they quoted me 8 hours but they had my vehicle for over 2 and a half weeks with no updates on when the work was going to be completed. Then when I finally went to pick it up they didn’t fix all of the damage. It took months of hounding them to get an appointment. When my vehicle went in for the 2nd time to get the original damage repaired, I was told it would take 1 hour but never received a phone call to pick it up all day on a Friday when they are closed for the weekend. I went by in the evening and my vehicle was parked out front with the new part installed so I used my spare key to drive it home as I needed it for work. All day Monday I still never received a phone call. When I went in Monday EOD to get my key, they had misplaced my key and were searching for it and had no paperwork, they also never even realized my car was missing. My car could have been stolen and nobody would have known for days. I don’t think they would have ever called me. They do terrible work, no communication, the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I will NEVER take my vehicle to Carstar again and will tell everyone I know to never take their vehicle here.

I am writing this to warn others: do not trust this shop with your vehicle or your safety. My experience involved a three month (on going to 4 now) delay, blatant dishonesty regarding safety specs, and a catastrophic mechanical failure that nearly resulted in a highway accident. 1. Timeline & Initial Negligence I dropped my car off on September 20th for three claims: glass replacement, bumper repair, and a direct hit to the left rim. I did not receive the vehicle back until December 24th. Dec 8 (First Pickup Attempt): The car was returned with four active dashboard codes, a sunroof air leak, and a massive bumper gap. Lack of Quality Control: It was evident the vehicle had not been test-driven or inspected before they notified me it was "ready." 2. Unprofessional Conduct (Staff: Muba) When I pointed out the obvious bumper gap, the staff member, Muba, was extremely dismissive and rude. He insisted the gap was "normal" and argued with me despite having no technical justification. The very next day, a technician fixed the gap in five minutes, proving Muba’s arguments were purely a tactic to avoid doing the work. 3. Deception Regarding Alignment & Camber Because of the impact on the left rim, I asked repeatedly if the alignment and camber were corrected. I was told "yes" every time. However, their own diagnostic papers told a different story: The Reality: My car was returned at -2.4 which is a huge gap from the otherside. They knowingly handed back a vehicle that was dangerously out of spec while claiming the work was complete. 4. Catastrophic Steering Failure Shortly after picking up the car on Dec 24th, the steering wheel physically disconnected from the wheels while I was on the highway. This is a 95,000km vehicle; this was not "wear and tear." This was a life-threatening failure directly related to the area of the initial impact that the shop claimed to have repaired. 5. Dishonesty and Insurance Fraud The shop blamed the three month delay on the insurance company, but email logs revealed their own vague communication was the bottleneck. Most importantly, after the steering failure, they changed their story first claiming they did the camber work, then later retracting that to claim it was "wear and tear" to avoid liability. FINAL VERDICT: If you value your life and your time, avoid this shop. They are a "preferred shop" that uses that title to mask incompetence and deceptive business practices.

***EDIT*** A month has passed with ZERO CONTACT from Airdrie Carstar. They DO NOT follow through with what they say. **UPDATE** A representative from the Airdrie contacted myself 2 hours after posting my last update. I gave them my terms of how they could make it right and was told they would ask their supervisor and get back to me. 4 weeks and counting Carstar. I dropped my truck off at Airdrie Carstar location at 10am.I spoke to the front-end staff and asked that the bumper that I was providing be secured inside their shop in a timely fashion as it was in the back of my truck and did not want it to be stolen. I returned at 5:13pm to find the bumper still in the back of my truck and their front office closed. I walked around the back of the building and found a bay door open, and asked the employee in the shop if he knew why the bumper was not inside. He had no idea that it was out front and that the front staff had made no mention of my request. I asked that it be handled right away and told the employee what truck it was and that I would be waiting for the bumper to be placed inside before I left. He complied and said he would bring it up with front end staff in the morning, I told him I would be doing the same. I returned the next day and asked the same front-end staff why my request was not taken care of, I received an empty apology with no excuse or ownership of their mistake. I was told that my truck was ready for pickup in the afternoon, I said I would be by the next day as I couldn’t make it before they closed. I arrived at 9:20 and waited 30 min for my truck was pulled up front and ready for a walk around. The list of deficiencies that were clearly visible upon the initial walk around were, 1.Backup camera was not centered in the license plate and pointed at an angle. It was dropped off centered and straight. 2.Bundle of wiring hanging from the new bumper. The old one had lights that were damaged in the collision. I told the shop staff to cut the wires at the lights, tie them up and I would take care of the wiring from there. They did not do this. 3.Factory license plate lights were left hanging; no attempt was made to connect the new light to the bulb. They did not notify me that they just left them. 4.Factory trailer plug was secured in the new bumper, granted the new bumper is a heavier steel but no attempt was made to secure the plug. 5.Taillight that they replace was installed with 1 factory screw and one they used. The screw they used was stripped and bent and unable to be removed. 6. Grinding marks of the tailpipe that were fresh from being their body shop. 7. Interior was poorly cleaned. I did not request or ask for cleaning of the interior. There were streaks on all the windows, the dash and enough Armor All on the floor mats it made them dangerously slippery. 8. Mounting bolts for the rear bumper were not torqued to factory specs. These issues were all created and not looked after while it was in their possession. The shop manager came out and zip tied the loose wiring to the hitch. I expressed that I felt all these things were sloppy workmanship and showed a complete lack of attention to basic details. I took the remainder of the day off work and was able to fix ALL the deficiencies created by their employees, except for the grinding marks on the exhaust pipe, and the stripped screw that they installed in the taillight. I returned the next day for them to address the stripped screw, I made it clear that my truck would not be leaving my sight and that they would either need to send an employee to the front parting lot to fix it, or I would be coming into the back to supervise the repair. I was not allowed in the shop because I was not an employee. I told them to order the correct screw and I would replace it myself. I waited 2 weeks with no contact from them, and sourced the screw myself. Carstar will not work on my vehicle without direct supervision from myself.

Carstar was great to work with. Our insurance company sent us to them, the appraisal was quick and easy, they had parts within a few days, and our repair was booked for a week later- they were even done earlier than they thought! Super convenient, they even handled the booking and return of the rental vehicle. The detailing on the inside of the truck was the icing on the cake! Highly recommend! Great communication from every staff member as well! Love the text updates as our truck was going through the repair process!
