They did my nails for graduation. I had to wait 30 minutes until I was seen, which is fine but I had an appointment, so I was a bit turned off by the wait. Afterwards I asked for a design on my nails to which she smudged, and didn’t bother fixing. When I noted the design was not what I wanted and was smudged, she said she didn’t have time to fix today and to “come back tomorrow”. If I could give this establishment zero stars I would. Save your money and time.

My friend and I came here for the first time and we had an amazing experience the ladies were very welcoming. We both got a pedi done. The ladies took their time and are masters at their trade. We will definitely come back again. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I had my shellac manicure today and I am more than happy! Clean, quick, nice staff and many colors....for 30 Cad.

The worst manicure I’ve ever had. It is polish (not shellac) it is blotchy, uneven and a terrible job, as you can see. Pedicure isn’t much better. Won’t be returning!!

I went to this establishment once and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life! I had my custom wedding ring stolen!!! I was a walk in (first time ever to this salon). I had shellac nails done and had taken my ring off and put it on the table beside me during the manicure. Last thing I did was go to the sink to wash my hands (as directed by the technician) and then went directly to the till to pay. It was a Saturday in February (Family Day long weekend) and it was cold out. Immediately after, I drove downtown and walked into HBC and took off my gloves and it was then (20 minutes after leaving Canadian Hippy Nails) that I noticed I did not have my ring. I immediately called to the salon, said I had just been there having yellow shellac manicure (as I was a walk in they did not know or ask my name) and that I had accidentally left my ring behind. The first response was "We don't have your ring. I have had three people at that table since you left." I was utterly shocked. What a load of **&^*. Impossible to have three manicures done in 20 minutes!!! I expected the response to be "Oh dear, let me check for you." I said I would be returning to the salon to look for my ring. When I returned it turned into a big fight with the owner. One of the customers even chimed in and said (and I quote), "if you were dumb enough to leave your ring behind, you deserved to have it stolen". Rather than engage in an escalated fight with these women, I left and went immediately to the police station to file a report. Long story short, the ring was never recovered. This happened on February 22, 2014. I still have a copy of the police report I filed. I did have insurance and chose to go with a different type of ring rather than attempt to have the original replicated. It was impossible to do so. My husband and I had spent several months working with a Calgary jewelry to create the ring. The ring had sentimental value, had personal symbols and inscriptions (engraved with Te' Amo). It will be our 20 year anniversary this year and thinking about this horrific experience I had at Canadian Hippy Nails saddens me. I spoke with a friend about this right after and she, too, had a terrible experience at Canadian Hippy Nails. She came in with an expensive hand bag and the technicians were eying it up and down and saying "you must be a rich lady". She hung on to her purse tight and got out there as soon as she could. The fact that this business is still operating boggles my mind. As the expression goes "what goes around comes around".
