£2.50 to pay by credit card (they give you the cash to put into the machines) £8 for a medium wash (detergent costs extra and a small wash is £6) £2 for 12 minutes of dryer (you can pay in 3 minute increments) That turns a £10 self service wash and dry into £12.50. The £2.50 card fee is a flat fee They were nice enough to let me put the washing in first then sort out the card payment later but they forgot to tell me about the £2.50 card payment (they say that they always explain this first, but if they said it first then i wouldn't be writing this review) ....so this is how I am dealing with that surprise ..... .... before commencing the drying process i worked out the cost of the washing and drying of 3 loads that I need to do tomorrow and so i got them to give me cash for today's cost and tomorrow's cost and continued with using the dryer. I then ignored the slight dampness on a few items preferring to air dry or iron dry at the hotel rather than spend another 50p. And with the cash i got for tomorrow's washing and drying, I will use it at another laundromat.... now I realise that the other venue will probably charge for card payments as well (or not even accept card) but the problem is with the surprise of it plus the fixed rate. If I was smarter I should have asked for over £100 in cash to make it more worthwhile. Now for other information.... The staff are nice There are a 6 small machines, maybe 4 medium machines and 8 dryers so even though they are busy doing commercial washing you should be able to get your laundry done. The medium machines don't have a fast spin rpm so the clothes feel more damp than the small machines.... certainly not as good as my machine at home. But yet most medium loads can dry in 12 to 18 minutes (£2 - £3) I wanted to give them 3 stars because I was put off by the poor communication and the high cost of the credit card fee... but more than that, by charging £2.50 they show that they're more interested in getting money from me today and less interested in the possibility that a happy customer will bring more money tomorrow. That's why I'm taking their money to someone else tomorrow To the owner: Put up signs for the costs To cash customers.... this is a good laundromat but probably better to use the small machines. However, I've seen other places that give you 7 minutes per pound of drying instead of 6.... so consider that too

Great place for tourists. We were able to quickly wash and dry our clothes in under an hour. Friendly and helpful staff too.

Today is August 25th 2025. I’m visiting London from California. I fly back tomorrow and had most of my clothes dirty. Walked from Trafalgar Square (25 mins walk) here to Boswell Laundrette based on other reviews. It’s a self laundry place where it looks that they also wash hotels towels and sheets. There is a staff member present, in this case an older lady. Very nice customer service, very helpful and polite. They have laundry wash balls for 1.50 pounds. They have a cashier if you need coins, I recommend bring your own or at least cash. They have medium and large size washers and dryers. Chairs and a bench outside for if you want to wait. There multiple restaurants and stores two blocks away while you wait. I got my self coffee while I waited. Hope this helps anyone who wants to avoid the costly hotels laundry services in London.

Great service. There is a lady there helping out with suggestions on the duration / size of washer / water temperature/ duration of dryer and mode of dryer. 2 sizes of washer. Wash duration is about 20min. Dryer is about 30min. Soap- buy from them or bring your own.

This is the only laundromat I’ll go to in London. I absolutely love this place! It’s a family-owned shop, which I love to support. The machines work incredibly well, and the staff are always present and helpful. There is also ample seating to wait on your clothes. Thank you, Boswell Laundry!
