Brought my Fiat here for a second opinion after KalTire recommended I get both my front struts replaced, and soon (saying it's dangerous), because of a leak etc - quoting me $600+ when I was there then emailing me an estimate for $1100. My spidey senses said get a second opinion (as did telling a friend and having them say they wouldn't trust that) - I first looked online and saw that my car having had only 74,000kms, no sign of leaks and no feeling of the lunge forward that you hear about, made me start looking around for a trustworthy mechanic. I called two - and Wee was the first to say I should bring it by, and they'd have a look for free. Well, no real surprise when they said a test drive didn't indicate anything urgent, then when they hoisted it to look under, they said they didn't see anything concerning - apart from I will need new rear brakes soon - and did KalTire mention that? Um... NO. Anyway, he said to wait - the car will scream at me - either a screechy noise or squeal when it's time. (And intuitively, I'd been concerned about the brakes because it hasn't been stopping as cleanly as it used to, but they still work and don't make a noise of any kind). Anyway, he said he'd have to see what happens when they dismantle things but it will likely cost around $550 to get them done. Sounds reasonable... and I like how they think. Wee also showed me a few documents while I was there about struts - what to look for - how you know they need replacing etc. Definitely inspires my trust; I asked if he has a daughter - he said yes - my gut told me he did by the empathy and compassion he showed me. Haven't had anything done yet but I will be back. These guys are good guys my gut also tells me - I don't believe they intentionally rip anyone off regardless of other posts. :) Thank you Wee and staff!
