I came here new to the city hoping to fix some problems on my vechile i got it back with nothing fixed. it’s a cheap place for a reason there’s nothing that actually gets done save yourself the time and hassle and just go to a proper mechanics. Also dealing with the workers they were all very rude and didn’t seem to experienced if your okay wasting money and time come here.

In July 2024 Austin Automotive replaced the starter in my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee. $800+ In April 2025 I was experiencing intermittent starting problems so in May 2025 I returned to Austin Automotive so they could check it out. They couldn't find a problem with the starter and recommended a new battery. $77 I had the battery checked and was told by the Brunette Battery that the problem wasn't with the battery. I eventually took my vehicle to another repair shop and they discovered the ferrule connector on the ignition signal wire was loose. They replaced the ferrule and the issue disappeared. In December 2025 the starter stopped working. When the new shop checked it out they told me the nut securing the power line from the battery had been cross-threaded and had worked loose causing short circuits. They suggested this was the probable cause for the starter/solenoid failure. While I'm unhappy with the quality of work done on the starter replacement, I feel especially ripped off on the "diagnosis" service charge as it appears they didn't put the car on the hoist, to check the starter connections, only testing the electrical systems from above, (under the hood).

Fast, kind, and professional—Austin Automotive turned a stressful holiday situation into a surprisingly pleasant one! On December 23rd, my car overheated, and they were recommended to me—answering my call just a minute before closing. They told me I could tow it over even after hours and promised to take a look the next day, even if the repair might have to wait until after the holidays. On Christmas Eve morning, despite only being open a half-day, they had diagnosed the problem, put two staff members on the repair, and—by some Christmas miracle—called me just before closing to say it was fixed and ready. When I arrived, I walked into their staff Christmas lunch to settle the invoice, and everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely cheerful. One staff member even shared advice on potential future issues from his own experience with a similar car. Highly recommend—thank you, Austin Automotive, for getting me back on the road just in time for the holidays!

I run an off-leash guiding service for dogs. We go into some remote and isolated areas. Yeah, it’s a fantastic life. Dog safety and vehicle safety go hand in hand. The team at Austin Automotive has kept me on the road for the last year. Sometimes it was not the emergency I thought it was, and sometimes that emergency was creeping up. The owner, who shall go nameless, always leveled with me straight as my vehicle is old. He said something that is always stuck with me, “sometimes it is cheaper to keep her, sometimes it’s not”. The point here is he’s always been very honest with me on what to address and what not to address. He understands exactly how important this vehicle is for me to run my business and how important it is for the dogs. When I told him I was going to write this review because I felt it was the right thing to do, he sort of discouraged me. The thing is, they’re very busy over there and they probably don’t have time for the basics like oil changes. They like working on cars and they are incredible with dealing with the people. Each and every one of them. This review is not to help them drum up business. As I said they’re really busy; it is a heartfelt thank you to everybody over at Austin Automotive for keeping me and my dogs on the road for the last year. Thank you very much from me and all the dogs.

Went to Austin Automotive to get my car carefully checked & fixed before a cross country move. They pointed out several items that they said were "urgent" and diagnosed a broken tire pressure monitor that need to be replaced. I didn't have time to get it all fixed before travelling, so I followed up after the move. A new repair shop inspected all the things Austin had told me were urgent and said there was no need to fix any of them. All either had no problems or were over a year away from needing attention -- Not terribly urgent. The kicker is the new shop didn't charge me for the inspection either. Later, I replaced my tires and even Costco were able to properly diagnose the cause of a recurring leak that Austin had blamed on malfunctioning TPMs. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is that most of their staff are very friendly.
